πŸŽ‰πŸŒ± Happy 10th Birthday, Tip Top Day Nursery Willenhall! πŸŒ±πŸŽ‰

This year marks an incredible milestone for Tip Top Day Nursery Willenhall as they celebrate 10 years of supporting local children and families. Congratulations to the entire team on a fantastic achievement! πŸ₯³

We're also excited to announce the start of our growing partnership with the nursery.

Over the past few days, we've been working together to create a dedicated growing area for the children. While it may be modest in size, it's packed with potential. Our new raised beds and growing towers will be used to grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and strawberries throughout the year, giving children the opportunity to learn where food comes from and experience the rewards of growing their own food.

Many of the plants have either been grown from seed by our team, or generously donated by local supporters and partners, including B&Q Wolverhampton. πŸ’š

Together, we'll also be working towards the Royal Horticultural Society School Gardening Awards, helping children develop new skills, build confidence, support their wellbeing, and build a lasting connection with nature.

We're looking forward to sharing updates as the garden develops and seeing what the children can achieve over the coming months.

If you'd like to support projects like this through donations, volunteering, sponsorship, materials, plants, or simply by getting involved, we'd love to hear from you. Please drop us a message and let's grow something amazing together. 🌻

πŸ†πŸŒ± We Did It! πŸŒ±πŸ†

We're delighted to share that, together with Tip Top Day Nursery Moxley , we have achieved Level 1 of the Royal Horticultural Society School Gardening Awards! πŸŽ‰

This recognition celebrates the fantastic start the children have made on their gardening journey. From planting seeds and exploring nature to learning where food comes from, the children have embraced every opportunity to get their hands dirty and connect with the natural world.

At Fjords Community CIC, we believe that gardening is about so much more than growing plants. It helps children build confidence, develop new skills, support their wellbeing, and create a lifelong connection with nature.

A huge thank you to the staff and children at Tip Top Day Nursery Moxley for their enthusiasm and hard work. 🌻

Now it's time to set our sights on Level 2 and continue growing together through nature! πŸ’š

πŸ‘£ CAN YOU HELP US PUT OUR BEST FOOT FORWARD? 🌱

We're looking for volunteers to join Team Fjords Community CIC at this year's Best Foot Forward Challenge at Aldersley Stadium on Saturday 27th June.

Whether you can walk 1 lap or 100 laps, every step will help us raise funds to support our community projects, nature-based activities, growing spaces, and work with local children, families, and communities.

You don't need to be an athlete. You don't need to run. You don't even need to stay all day.

Just come along, have fun, and help us make a difference.

We're hoping to put together a fantastic team of walkers, joggers, runners, families, friends, supporters, local businesses, and community champions who want to help us grow what we're building together.

πŸ’š Walk for community πŸ’š Walk for nature πŸ’š Walk for inclusion πŸ’š Walk for Fjords Community CIC

If you'd like to take part, comment "COUNT ME IN" below or send us a message and we'll get in touch with more details.

Let's show Wolverhampton what happens when a community comes together.

🐣 A Little Bit of Science Happening at TIP TOP DAY Nursery , Willenhall! 🐣

Over the past few weeks, the children have been eagerly watching our eggs hatch and learning all about the life cycle of chickens.

But this hatch may have given us something even more exciting...

We believe we may have produced an auto-sexing cross by pairing a Light Sussex cockerel with hens carrying Rhode Island Red genetics. If we're right, it could mean that the chicks' colouring will allow us to identify whether they're male or female shortly after hatching.

At the moment it's only a theory, and we'll need to wait and watch the chicks develop before we can confirm whether our experiment has worked. That's all part of the fun of science – making observations, testing ideas, and learning from the results.

The children have loved getting involved, asking questions, making predictions, and seeing first-hand how nature and science work together.

We'll keep everyone updated as the chicks grow and let you know whether our little hatching experiment has been successful! πŸ₯

These chicks will become the next generation of our Flock, which will hopefully help us provide fresh eggs to our communities πŸ₯°

Alright… we’ve seen everyone else doing these AI sketchbook pictures, so naturally we had to see what it would do with David πŸ˜‚

Honestly though… it’s actually kind of brilliant.

Not sure whether it looks more like a community project leader, an exhausted gardener, or the main character from an indie video game… but we’ll take it 🌱

What do we think then β€” accurate or not? πŸ‘€
