Did you know…

Sir Quintin Blake was born in Sidcup and went to Chis and Sid?
How about F1’s Bernie Ecclestone lived on Danson Road as a child?
Also, Jo Malone “grew up in a council house in Bexleyheath and after leaving school with no qualifications she created her company with her mum Eileen.”

Who is the most famous person you know to have lived in Bexley? 🤷🏼‍♀️

100 Faces of Bexley is a community-led project celebrating the people who make Bexley a special place to live. Volunteers, carers, coaches, neighbours, and quiet everyday heroes — this book shines a light on the individuals, regardless of age, whose kindness, dedication, and community spirit often go unrecognised. From lollipop ladies to scout leaders, from charity fundraisers to our oldest living resident, and everyone in between.

Each person featured will be nominated by the public, making this a true reflection of Bexley through the eyes of those who live here. Every face tells a story — of service, resilience, generosity, and pride in our borough.

From all nominations received, 100 individuals will be selected and professionally photographed and portrayed in a high-quality published book, along with their stories, to celebrate the contribution they have made to Bexley.

The book will be produced and made available for public sale, featuring all 100 selected faces. All proceeds from book sales will be donated directly to local charities within the London Borough of Bexley, ensuring that the project not only honours community spirit, but actively reinvests in it.

Our aim is simple: to say thank you, to preserve local stories, and to create a lasting record of the people who help hold our community together. 100 Faces of Bexley is not about fame or status — it’s about heart, humanity, and the power of everyday acts to make a difference.

Celebrating the heroes of the London Borough of Bexley — past, present, and future — and everyone who believes that community starts with people.

Get Involved
We invite residents, schools, community groups, and local organisations to take part in this project.

• Nominate a local hero: Do you know someone who makes a difference in Bexley, big or small? We welcome nominations from all walks of life.

• Become a sponsor: Local businesses and organisations can support the project through sponsorship, helping us bring this book to life while showing commitment to the community they serve.

By nominating, sponsoring, or sharing this project, you’re helping ensure the stories of Bexley’s everyday heroes are seen, celebrated, and remembered — while supporting local charities that continue to strengthen our borough.
