Hello,

We are trying to protect the trees off Lever Causeway (the copse behind Stanley Avenue and the trees on Mount Road).

Could I please ask everyone to join in and sign this petition please. It would be great if your could share this to family and friends. The more signatures we have, the more effective the petition will be.

Taylor Wimpey have had planning consultants out to the field and they have objected to the trees being protected. If we can't get the Tree Protection Order made permanent, I'm sure that these trees will be cut down at the earliest opportunity.

PLEASE HELP!

Hello,

My name is......and I live at....... I would like to raise my objections to the potential building on Lever Causeway Green Belt land. My reasons for this are as follows:

1.) There is sufficient land in urban areas to build upon.
2.) The population projection does not warrant for 12,000 houses.
3.) It will spoil the character of the area.
4.) Lever Causeway and it's open spaces provide an area for relaxation and exercise for innumerable local residents as well as wildlife.
5.) Unrivalled views will be destroyed, irreparable damage to its setting.
6.) Increased traffic and major congestion.
7.) Acres of prime agricultural land will be lost.
8.) Damage to Mountwood Conservation area.
9.) The sites either side of Lever Causeway are huge. Once released from Green Belt, building could extend to Storeton, causing unrestricted sprawl, with historic Storeton and Bebington Merging.
10.) Use the Wirral's already empty 5,000 properties and the already existing space on brownfield sites for 18000 homes.

Many thanks,
...........

There is to be a Council Meeting on Monday 15th October at 6pm. A number of motions have been submitted by all political parties to debate the Green Belt, Local Plan, Housing Targets, Sustainable Transport for Wirral Waters, The Importance of Farmland for Food and the New Ferry Explosion.

The Public can attend the meeting and it is important that as many people as possible attend to ensure the Councillors know that we are listening to what they say and taking note of how they vote!

Further info about the motions to be debated can be found on pages 83 to 94 of this document...

Here is the online petition, it takes 2 minutes guys!

This beautiful view of Lever Causeway is in grave danger of being ruined because landowners are happy to sell the land for housing. Taylor Wimpey have an option to buy the land, so if it is released from Green Belt, building WILL start shortly afterwards. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN. This area is enjoyed by many for walking, jogging, cycling etc. Let the council know you are unhappy. Email [email protected] and also [email protected] with re lever causeway as your heading!

The Council has a target of building 12000 new homes by 2035. There is space for 18000 homes on Brownfield sites on the Wirral. Wirral Waters alone already has planning permission for 13000 homes – more than enough to meet our target – but currently only has plans to build 2700 homes over the next 15 years.
There are also 6000 empty properties on the Wirral, it is scandalous that the Council is considering releasing precious Green Belt Land while these properties lie empty.
