picturesque village of Bathampton, just 3 miles from the centre of the World Heritage City of Bath, and is owned and run by Richard and Sue Warren.

The canals are a safe place to be right now, so come and enjoy a stress free holiday on the Kennet & Avon Canal this summer. It is the ideal environment for maintaining a social distance whilst enjoying the peace and tranquillity of canal life and the beautiful English countryside.

UK canals reopened to full navigation on 1 June and following Government guidance, our holidays are planned to resume from 4 July.
A boating holiday adventure is a wonderful outdoors activity and the Kennet & Avon Canal is not congested or crowded. You will be sharing the boat only with family or friends (if permitted). You can bring your own food or shop in small shops or supermarkets close to your boat. You will be no closer to people on the towpath than if you are out for a walk at home or in a park.

You can just enjoy being relaxed, being safe and just... being.

BATH CHRISTMAS MARKET!!

We still have a few days available for B&B aboard one of our narrowboats to come and enjoy Bath's famous Christmas Market, but they are booking up fast! An easy walk into town along the towpath and you are in the heart of all the action. Take a taxi back if you are laden with presents, and snuggle up for a cosy evening relaxing in front of the woodburner. All the boats have very efficient central heating so there is no worry about the winter weather!

Welcome to Kennet and Avon Canal Boats, where you can book a unique break on one of Britain’s most attractive canals and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Wiltshire countryside.

Kennet and Avon Canal Boats is a small family owned business offering low cost canal and narrow boat hire ideal for families and couples alike. The small fleet of three very individual, quality boats is based in the picturesque village of Bathampton, just 3 miles from the centre of the World Heritage City of Bath, and is owned and run by Richard and Sue Warren.
We do not operate our boats like the larger companies, the boats are unique and each has a character of its own. We have a varied range including shorter boats which some people prefer as they find them easier to handle. This makes them ideal for the novice boater, as well as the more experienced crew. Some of our customers have never stood on a narrow boat before, let alone driven one, but rest assured. Richard will not leave you until he is happy that you can handle the boat safely and competently. e put the extra care and attention into our service because we want your experience with us to be exactly what it should be – a holiday.

DOTTIE B is the big sister of the family and at 55 feet long is ideal for the larger family or for adult groups. She has excellent open plan living space with a modern kitchen, separate dining table and cosy lounge area complete with wood burning stove for those evenings with a nip in the air! There is a fixed double bed, make up double in the dinette, and the lounge has a fixed single with the option of a further make up single. There is also the luxury of a half bath with a shower above and a heated towel rail so that you can wrap up in warm fluffy towels!

Although she is a longer boat than Abbey and Tinka, Dottie B drives equally well and is easy to manoeuvre, even for novice sailors.

TINKA is our baby, and the perfect boat for a spot of ‘you and me’ time. A compact 26 feet long, she has many things that a larger boat offers in an economically planned layout. A well equipped kitchen for a small boat, offering comfortable dining area, and at the front is ample seating in the lounge. She can sleep up to three people in a double and single format, and her diminutive size makes her the perfect partner for a first time sailor.

Unlike some larger boat hire fleets, we have a small but perfectly formed selection of boats each with unique and individual characters. They all have their own special qualities and the variety in size means that whatever your requirements, we can offer you a comfortable, stylish boat to suit your needs.

A classy boat some 36 feet long, ABBEY is the perfect size for a family of four or just a few friends enjoying a precious taste of peace and quiet. Her interior is light and stylish, with a fixed double bed and another make up double in the lounge area. The kitchen is spacious and particularly well equipped, giving a real ‘home from home’ feeling for the floating chef! Abbey is a firm favourite with returning customers due to her ease of handling and comfortable, cosy living accommodation.
