🇬🇧 YOUR LOCAL COUNCILLORS – WEEKLY UPDATE
It’s been another packed week across Hoyland Milton and Rockingham, with your Reform UK councillors working together on resident casework, community projects, council business and issues affecting our local area.
Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to 👇
🏘️ OUT AND ABOUT IN OUR COMMUNITIES
✅ Attended the Hoyland PACT meeting, alongside South Yorkshire Police, Berneslai Homes and other partner organisations, listening to residents and discussing crime, anti-social behaviour, nuisance vehicles and other community concerns.
✅ Attended the presentation and rollout of the new Trauma Response Kits, funded through the Ward Alliance for locations across Hoyland Milton and Rockingham.
✅ Visited the new Parkside Community Centre with Forge Community Partnership for a tour of the new facilities and to hear more about what the development will offer the community.
✅ Carried out a Platts Common and Blacker Hill walk-around with Berneslai Homes, discussing housing, environmental and neighbourhood issues and identifying matters requiring further attention.
✅ Visited Elsecar Heritage Centre for a walk-around with the Cabinet Spokesperson for Communities, discussing the centre, ongoing work and its future.
🚂 Councillors also held discussions about the Heritage train and its future.
🛍️ Attended the Elsecar Heritage Centre Makers Market, supporting local makers, traders and our heritage centre.
☕ Supported the Macmillan Coffee Morning at Birdwell Methodist Chapel, catching up with residents while supporting a fantastic cause.
🇬🇧 We also launched our 100 Days campaign, looking back at what has been achieved during our first 100 days running Barnsley Council and setting out the work still to come.
🏛️ COUNCIL BUSINESS
Councillors attended their weekly Reform group meeting with Cabinet members for a full catch-up on council business, ward issues and ongoing work.
🎪 SUPPORTING PENISTONE EAST
Councillors joined colleagues on the campaign trail in Pen*stone East, supporting Reform UK candidate Eunice.
📩 RESIDENT CASEWORK
Alongside all of the above, all five councillors have continued dealing with the usual day-to-day casework across both wards.
This includes housing, highways, environmental concerns, anti-social behaviour and many other individual issues raised directly with us.
Much of this work happens quietly behind the scenes, but it remains one of the most important parts of being a local councillor.

🇬🇧 Another busy week working across Hoyland Milton and Rockingham.
From community visits, PACT and resident casework to housing, council meetings, local facilities and discussions about some of the bigger challenges facing our area, we'll continue working together, listening to residents and pushing for practical solutions.
