We must have lost count of the number of "Initiatives" aimed at improving the state of our communities and town centres. But how many of them have made a real, lasting change?

Politicians might not like to admit it, but the real remedy is a simple one - get Government out of the way, reduce taxes, make it easier and cheaper for businesses to recruit, retain and reward workers, tear up all those regulations, and offer high-quality advice and support where it's asked for

In a nutshell - the Gwlad way!

👎 I’m very disappointed that Conwy County Borough Council has overlooked deprived areas in my constituency for UK Government Pride in Place funding.

💷 The Council must ensure there is a clear investment strategy for these communities to ensure they don’t miss out.

I believe we do have a Minister for Health in Cardiff?

Difficult to tell as all we've heard is silence from him

And it's his department that's supposed to have been running this health board for years, under one hopeless Minister of Health after another

Instead, there's still a local board, stuffed with the great and good - only there to deflect some of the flak away from the Ministers

We at Gwlad say that Ministers should be directly responsible for the services they control. And it's Ministers, not distant quangocrats, who should have their feet held to the fire when things go wrong ....
.. as they often seem to do

No one outside of Wales seems to have picked up on the ridiculous situation we currently have here regarding waiting lists.

The Welsh Government are now three weeks late in publishing the latest waiting list data.

This is because Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board has problems with its data with the Welsh Government saying that there have been "concerns about the accuracy" of the number for some months.

Betsi is Wales' biggest health board, covers all of North Wales, employs 20k people and has a £2bn budget.

It has also been in special measures for a decade (except for a brief period when the Welsh Gov took it out just before the last Senedd election).

The previous board was sacked en masse by Eluned Morgan when she was health minister and the new one is entirely the creation of the First Minister.

This is a scandal that the Welsh Government simply cannot wash their hands of. They have had unprecedented powers to make changes in the organisation for a decade but have failed.

Some of the stories from Betsi are unbelievable. In 2022 a member of the board left the organisation only to be appointed by the Welsh Government in spring 2023 to a new independent board which was supposed to scrutinise the health board's performance and governance.

As this person previously sat around Betsi’s board table when they were a director this means they would have been scrutinising decisions they themselves made!

Ultimately it is the people of North Wales who are suffering because of these failings, as well as the staff on the ground who have to work in this basket case of an organisation.

I have no doubt that if this was in South Wales, closer to the corridors of power in Cardiff Bay, this atrocious situation would never have been allowed to fester how it has.

We have now reached the stage where we can't even see the latest waiting list data (the reduction of which which was central to Eluned Morgan's strategy) because the one health board the Welsh Gov has direct control over can't even be trusted to have accurate records.

Mae ganddo ni Weinidog Iechyd, on’d oes?

Ydy o wedi cymryd gwyliau’r Nadolig yn gynnar, ’te? Dŷn ni heb glywed dim byd ganddo fo bron am sgandal arall eto yn ein bwrdd iechyd lleol.

On’d yw hi’n hen bryd torri nôl ar y cyrff “hyd braich” ’ma – llawn o’r hen wynebau parchus – fel bod gweinidogion yn gorfod ateb drostyn nhw eu hunain pan mae pethau’n mynd i'r chwith?

Gyda llaw, on’d oedd ’na broblem efo rheoli data Betsi yn ôl yn nyddiau Covid? Rhyw system wahanol i weddill Cymru neu rywbeth felly?

Siop siafins go iawn!

We do have a Minister for Health, don't we? Is he taking Christmas leave early, as we've heard barely a peep from him about yet another scandal at our local health board

Isn't it about time these arms-length bodies, stuffed with the great and good, were slimmed down so that ministers had their own feet put to the fire for their failings

BTW, wasn't there an issue about Betsi's data management back in the days of COVID - a different system to the rest of Wales or something?

Siop siafins go iawn!

Efallai na fyddwch chi erioed wedi clywed am Gwlad o’r blaen – dyma’n harweinydd, y Cynghorydd Gwyn Wigley Evans, i egluro’n gryno.

Chwarae teg: does dim plaid arall fel ni yng Nghymru.

"Mae Gwlad yn blaid annibyniaeth newydd i Gymru. Credwn mewn llywodraeth ysgafn , a Chymru annibynnol, entrepreneuraidd gyda threthi isel.

Rydym yn cynnig dewis credadwy yn lle’r gweinyddiaethau sosialaidd sydd wedi llusgo Cymru i lawr yn y gorffennol.

Mewn popeth a gynigiwn – busnes, diwylliant, cymdeithas, iaith – Cymru gyntaf, pobl Cymru gyntaf.

Rydym yn blaid genedlaetholgar wahanol, yn canolbwyntio’n llwyr ar adennill ein rhyddid cyn gynted ag y bo’n ymarferol; gan sicrhau y daw Cymru’n sefydlog ac yn ffyniannus.

Mae hyn yn golygu chwalu hen ragdybiaethau a rhoi’r economi yn flaenoriaeth uwchlaw popeth.

Nid ydym yn credu bod pobl Cymru’n well na neb arall – ond nhw yw’r bobl orau i redeg Cymru.

Dylai Cymru fod yn wahanol ond nid ynysig; yn agored i’r byd ond nid yn ddalen wag. Mae ein hiaith a’n diwylliant yn asedau, nid yn faich.

Mae Cymru’n dlawd ac mae angen i’n heconomi dyfu. Mae ffordd brofedig o gyflawni hynny, sydd wedi codi biliynau allan o dlodi yn ystod ein hoes ni – masnach rydd a marchnadoedd rhydd.

Ni yw’r unig blaid sy’n cydnabod beth sydd angen ei wneud.

Nid ydym yn obsesiynu dros adnoddau. Dywed rhai fod cyfoeth gwlad yn dibynnu ar ei hadnoddau naturiol: dŵr, olew, glo ac ati. Eto mae rhai o wledydd mwyaf llwyddiannus y byd – y Ffindir, Israel ac eraill – mor fach â Chymru ac â llai o adnoddau.

Ein hyder ni yw yn y bobl, nid yn y llywodraeth. Mae pobl Cymru’n ddoeth a galluog: drwy gydol hanes maent wedi bod yn aml ar flaen y gad ym maes diwydiant, gwyddoniaeth a thechnoleg, addysg a gofal iechyd. Rhaid i’r llywodraeth symud o’u ffordd.

Rydym am greu’r amodau i bobl Cymru lwyddo. System addysg sy’n deilwng o’r wlad gyntaf yn y byd i sicrhau llythrennedd torfol – 250 mlynedd yn ôl! Gyda system dreth nad yw’n cosbi llwyddiant ond yn gwobrwyo buddsoddiad a thwf tymor hir.

Rydym yn ymrwymo i ofal iechyd cyffredinol, am ddim ar y pwynt defnydd. Ond ni allwn dywallt mwy a mwy o a***n i’r GIG fel pe bai’r unig ddewis arall yn system yr UD. Rydym yn cefnogi system arddull Ewropeaidd, wedi’i ha***nnu gan yswiriant ond wedi’i warantu gan y llywodraeth.

Rydym yn dweud y dylai Cymru ddefnyddio’r pwerau sydd eisoes ganddi i wella pethau – er bod pob Llywodraeth Bae Caerdydd hyd yma wedi methu gwneud hynny.

Yn y pen draw, cenedl yw Cymru.

Nid oes arnom angen Llundain i sefyll ar ein ffordd wrth i ni ymgysylltu â’r byd ar ein telerau ein hunain.

Ymunwch â ni. Pleidleisiwch dros ein hymgeisydd, Anthony Cook, yn etholiad Caerffili.

Ac rhowch wybod i’ch ffrindiau am Gwlad! Ymunwch gyda ni!! Hyd yn oed ystyriwch rhodd i ni!!

Maybe you've never heard of Gwlad before - here's our leader Coun Gwyn Wigley Evans to explain in a nutshell

Face it, there's no other party like us in Wales

"Gwlad is a new Welsh independence party. We believe in light-touch government, and a low-tax, entrepreneurial, independent Wales
* We offer a credible alternative to the socialist administrations which have dragged Wales down in the past
* In everything we advocate, be it business, culture, society, language ... it's Wales first, the people of Wales first
* We're a different kind of nationalist party, entirely focused on reclaiming our freedom in the shortest practical timescale; ensuring Wales becomes stable and prosperous.
* This means overturning old assumptions and prioritising the economy above all
* We don’t believe that Welsh people are better than anyone else. They’re simply the best people to run Wales.
* Wales should be distinctive but not isolated; open to the world but not a blank slate. Our language and culture are assets, not liabilities
* Wales is poor and our economy needs to grow. There’s a proven way to achieve that, which has lifted billions out of poverty during our lifetimes – free trade and free markets.
* We are the only party that recognises what needs to be done
* We’re not obsessed by resources. Some say that a country’s wealth depends on its natural resources: water, oil, coal, etc. Yet some of the world’s most successful countries – Finland, Israel, and others – are as small as Wales and have fewer resources
* Our trust is in people, not in government. Welsh people are smart and capable: throughout history they’ve often been at the forefront of progress in industry, science & technology, education & healthcare. The government needs to get out of their way
* We want to create the conditions for Welsh people to succeed. An education system worthy of the first country in the world to achieve mass literacy - 250 years ago! With a tax system that doesn’t penalise success but rewards long-term investment and growth
* We’re committed to universal health care, free at the point of use. But we can't just pour ever more money into the NHS, as if the only alternative were the US system. We advocate a European-style system, funded by insurance but underwritten by government
* We say Wales should use the powers it already has to improve things – though every Cardiff Bay Government so far has failed to do so.

Ultimately, Wales is a nation

We don’t need London to get in our way as we engage with the world on our own terms

Mae pawb eisiau gweld Cymru'n gyfoethog. Ond mae'n hynod cyn lleied o bobl sy'n wir ddeall beth fod hynny'n meddwl, a sut mae'n dod i fod.

Gwlad yw'r unig blaid wleidyddol yng Nghymru sy'n deall hyn mewn gwirionedd, a chanlyn nhw gynllun i wneud o'n realiti.

We all want Wales to be wealthier. But in general, there's a shocking lack of understanding about what that actually means, and how it's done.

Gwlad, uniquely among political parties active in Wales, actually get this
