🎉 Congratulations James 🎉

Last week Bakewell fire station's newest recruit James successfully attended his passing out parade after his initial training course "well-done" 👨‍🚒

He will now undertake a 2 year development plan learning new skill sets which will aid him in becoming a competent firefighter for Derbyshire fire and rescue service.

Once again well done James and good luck for the future 🔥🔥

Crews from Bakewell Fire Station met some very excited pupils from Bakewell infant School this weekend. Talking to them about what to do if they ever come across a fire 🔥 and the importance of smoke alarms.

With the bank holiday upon us, it's time to start getting those barbecues out 🌭🍔☀️.. Please remember BBQs can retain a lot of heat.... So keep those little ones safe and dispose of BBQs correctly.

The British weather is as unpredictable as ever this year. This year's fete day the rain stayed away ☔. Bakewell fire crews along with the local community police team attended the event. The holidays are on the way and exploring the great outdoors can be a great day out, especially with the little ones but please be careful when near open water and outdoor swimming areas

Think about what dangers may occur and supervise children when swimming natural pools

💧 Lack of safety equipment
💧 Under water hazards
💧 Water pollution

We welcomed Bakewell rainbows 🌈 to the fire station yesterday evening for a meet and great with the crew and for them to check out some of the cool technical kit that we use to help people in emergency situations.

Whoever knows, one of these young women, could one day be joining the Derbyshire fire service team in the future. Inspiring the next generation

Summer Sunshine 🌞🚒

A good day had by all. Yesterday we attended Youlgrave preschool village fete on a glorious bank holiday Sunday. It's great to meet the community we serve face to face & let them know about the role we carry out in fire and rescue for the local area.

Hopefully it has inspired some future Derbyshire Firefighters 👨‍🚒👩‍🚒
