The Greater Good Project CIC is an amazing local organisation providing activities for all and most at little or no cost.
It was set up mid-Covid when a lot of us evaluated our lives.
This event was held the day after the light switch on in Haslingden and benefited the market traders and shopkeepers and the children who took part.

Victorian Haslingden think industry and wealth along with raw sewerage, disease and dangers to health. Those with money lived longer (funny that), with access to clean water, decent food and medical care. Everyone else?

They had luck, dodgy cure-alls, and the local tooth drawer. 💉 A two-tier healthcare system? Turns out it’s nothing new. 🕰️ Join us for a deep dive into Haslingden’s past —with- of want, squalor and disease.

🎭 Haslingden Library Crankie Day –Friday 31st October, 10am–4pm! 🎭

We know how tricky it can be to find fun, free things to do with the kids during the school holidays. Here’s one you won’t want to miss!

Our friends at Haslingden Library are hosting a Crankie Day packed full of family-friendly performances, crafts, and storytelling fun. Discover the magic of Crankie Theatre — a charming old art form where stories are brought to life using illustrated scrolls and music.

✨ Enjoy live performances from storyteller and artist Bronia Evers, blast off on a mini space adventure, make your very own crankie to take home, and even learn about Haslingden’s very own Michael Davitt in a special presentation by Thomas Byrne.

And don’t forget — it’s Halloween, so fancy dress is encouraged! 🎃

While you’re in town, pop down to Haslingden Market too. We’ll be open all day with our lovely local traders, tasty treats, and friendly faces. It’s the perfect way to make a day of it without spending a fortune.
