As we begin to head into the winter months, we would like to remind residents that the opening hours at Tring Road Cemetery will be changing.

From this Sunday 6 September till 27 March 2027, the cemetery will open at 8am and close at 4pm daily.

Kingsbrook Parish Council Chair, Adam Bennitt and Vice-Chair Vicki Boyton were spoilt for choice today when choosing the 2026 Best Kept Allotments!

There was an incredible range of produce on display across the Northern and Southern sites with; tomatoes, potatoes, onions, figs, apples, pears, ochre, chillies, melons, cucumbers, cabbage, chard, broccoli, pumpkin, butternut squash, courgettes, runner beans and raspberries all in evidence, plus flowers and even some water features too!

Congratulations to our two winners; Mindaugas (Northern) and Emma Kilarski (Southern) who Adam and Vicki felt had created incredible plots and really utilised their space for a variety of planting and produce.

Special mentions too to Tracy Palmer and Alison Baxter for their allotments and Evaelle who won the prize for the tallest sunflower head. Dad was on hand to collect her prize 😊.

Many thanks to Councillor Andrew Grant and the Kingsbrook Allotment Group for organising and hosting the event today!

🌿 Thank you to Adrian Thomas from RSPB and Matt Hulme RSPB Kingsbrook Meadows for an informative session on encouraging wildlife in our surroundings, along with an overview of RSPB Kingsbrook Meadows.

With National Allotment Week almost over for another year, it was a perfect moment to celebrate the nature and community spirit that make our allotments and gardens so special.

Thank you to all the residents, friends and guests who joined us.
