Last night, members of Askern Town Council had the pleasure of visiting Pinders Circus during its time here in Askern and we can honestly say… it’s not to be missed! 🎪✨

From incredible circus tricks and jaw dropping acrobatics to mind blowing stunts that had the audience on the edge of their seats, it was a fantastic evening of family entertainment.

What a day in Askern 🌼

We were joined by pupils from Moss Road School who got stuck straight in planting wildflower seeds across the site, helping turn the space into something really special for the months ahead.

They also designed and decorated a brilliant set of bug hotels, which will be popping up over the next few weeks alongside our existing bee hotels 🐝

Plenty of energy, plenty of muddy hands, and a proper contribution to improving our local environment 👏

📣 Have your say on better bus services in South Yorkshire

South Yorkshire is planning improvements to local bus services and they want to hear from you.

This is your chance to help shape:
• More reliable bus services
• Better connections to work, education and healthcare
• Simpler tickets and clearer information
• Safer and more accessible journeys
• New, modern and electric buses

From 2027, buses will begin coming back under local control to better serve communities across our region.

Today is Earth Day 🌍

Askern Town Council staff, alongside the Mayor, have been out working together to prepare the land for our upcoming wildflower planting. It is a small step that will make a big difference, helping to support local wildlife, encourage pollinators, and bring a splash of colour to our green spaces.

We are proud to be investing in a greener, more vibrant Askern for everyone to enjoy.

🌸 Spring continues at Askern Lake 🌸

The daffodils may have been and gone, but now it’s the turn of the bluebells to shine — starting to bring colour and life to the paths around the lake.

Our general operatives have also been working hard to improve the area, helping to enhance the look and feel of the lake for everyone to enjoy. Their efforts are really starting to show as we move further into the season.

If you’re heading out for a walk, please stick to the paths and help protect the planting so it can continue to flourish over the coming weeks.
