🎄✨ Yes, we know it's only June... but Christmas doesn't organise itself! ✨🎄

Bringing a Community Christmas Event to Annfield Plain takes months of planning, fundraising, volunteers, permissions and a lot of hard work behind the scenes.

This week is where the magic begins! 🎅🎁

We're excited to be holding our very first fundraiser for Christmas in Annfield Plain 2026 at the fantastic Twin Crafts Event this Saturday, where we'll be running a Sweet Tombola packed with treats and prizes.

🌟 We'd love your support.

Not only will you be helping us raise funds for the Christmas in Annfield Plain Event, you'll also be supporting a brand-new event coming to our village.

Many of you may already know Twin Crafts from their successful events across the area, and we're delighted they're bringing one of their popular events to Annfield Plain for the very first time.

The more we support events like this, the more opportunities we create to bring exciting activities, markets and community events into our village.

⚽🎨 Can You Help Get Annfield Plain Football Club Ready for the New Season? 🎨⚽

On Saturday 6th June and Saturday 27th June, volunteers will be coming together at Annfield Plain Football Club for two community tidy-up days to help get the ground looking its best ahead of the new season.

There are plenty of jobs to do, including:
✅ Painting
✅ General maintenance
✅ Tidying around the ground
✅ Various other jobs to help improve the club

The team will be there from 9:30am until around 4:00pm on both days, and whether you can spare an hour, a couple of hours, or the whole day, every bit of help makes a real difference.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support your local non-league football club and help create a ground that players, volunteers, supporters and the wider community can be proud of.

🌟 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE MORNING! 🌟

Today saw the launch of Connecting Communities – Cleaning 1 Street at a Time, and what a fantastic success it was!

💚 Over 20 amazing volunteers took part as well as 1 very special Little Picker who was full of smiles
🗑️ 38 bags of rubbish collected👏

Countless streets made cleaner, safer and more welcoming for everyone

That's 38 bags of litter removed from the streets of Annfield Plain in just a couple of hours. An incredible achievement and a real example of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

A huge thank you to every single person who gave up their Sunday morning to help. Whether you picked litter, supported the event, brought children along, helped with refreshments or simply came to show your support, you all played a part in making today a success.

But this is only the beginning.

This group will now be led forward by Michael Millmore, who will be helping to grow and develop the project over the coming months. The vision is simple: to build a friendly team of volunteers who take pride in where they live and work together to keep our villages looking their best.

We'll be targeting different areas, bringing more people together and creating a positive community movement that everyone can be part of.

If you'd like to get involved, we'd love to welcome you. You don't need any experience, just a willingness to make a difference.

And finally, a gentle reminder to everyone: please take your rubbish home, use the bins provided and help us keep our villages clean, tidy and welcoming for all.

🕤 Doors open from 9:30am at Annfield Plain Community Centre for pre-litter-pick refreshments and equipment collection.

☕ Free refreshments available before, during and after the event.
🦺 Equipment provided.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 All ages and abilities welcome.
🌟 Do as much or as little as you like.

Whether you’re helping for 10 minutes, an hour, or the whole morning, every piece of litter collected makes a difference.

Let’s show what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.
