I’ve just been in Andover town Centre and seen this leak earlier on there was a small leak going on and when somebody came to try and switch off temporarily to fix the leak the whole hydrant point broke. That has led to this significant fountain in the middle of the town centre.

The team who have the parts and resources to fix it are now on site and it should be fixed within the next 5-10 minutes. There may be some time where the water is switched off until it is fixed.

ETA-there will be some people in the High Street affected by lower water pressure until it is fixed. Everyone should now have water though.

They are waiting for a team with the equipment to fix it as it is a significant leak. Should be completed by the end of the day.

False economy indeed

A COUPLE of weeks ago the Conservative Leader of Hampshire County Council, Cllr Adams-King proudly told us that he had successfully rejected calls…

Great to see these improvements happening on the High Street.

Great to see these improvements happening on the High Street.

The Blue Cross charity shop on Andover High Street has had a fresh new look thanks to an Andover Town Centre Frontage Grant of around £5,000.

The funding has helped repair and repaint the shop front, along with an internal refresh by the Blue Cross team, creating a brighter and more welcoming space for customers and volunteers.

Grants like this support local organisations to invest in their premises, strengthen the High Street and play a part in Andover’s wider regeneration plans.

The scheme is delivered by Test Valley Borough Council, working with Andover BID and Andover Town Council, and funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
