๐Ÿšจ THREE THEFTS. ONE FARMER. AND A MUCH BIGGER PROBLEM.

Itโ€™s easy to assume machinery theft is the work of opportunist criminals.

But organised criminal networks are targeting rural communities too.

As part of , the focus is Serious & Organised Crime โ€” starting conversations about the criminal networks targeting villages, businesses and rural infrastructure across the UK.

In this useful video, Nick Mayell, Identification Specialist for Construction Plant & Agricultural Machinery, shares a real example.

A farmer has been targeted three times this year, most recently losing an ATV.

He believed he was being targeted by opportunist thieves.

Nick believes it could be organised crime.

Then came another problem: the farmer didn't have the ATV's chassis number.

If the machine is recovered, identifying it and getting it back to its rightful owner becomes much harder.

This is why identification matters.

We combine forensic security marking with intelligent asset identification, helping to deter theft and support the identification and recovery of stolen machinery and equipment.

But the wider message is bigger than one machine.

Rural communities must not be overlooked when it comes to tackling serious and organised crime.

This week, take action:

๐Ÿ“ธ Photograph your valuable assets
๐Ÿ”ข Record VIN, chassis and engine numbers
๐Ÿ“ Keep the details somewhere safe
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Consider professionally marking valuable equipment

Know what you own. Record it. Protect it.

๐ŸŽฅ Watch Nickโ€™s video and join the conversation.

๐Ÿšœ RURAL COMMUNITIES DESERVE TO BE HEARD.

This Sunday marks the start of National Rural Crime Action Week, with this yearโ€™s theme:

โ€œPolice Reform Must Include Rural Communities.โ€

As a proud Associate Member of the National Rural Crime Network (NRCN), VIN Chip supports the call to keep rural crime firmly on the national agenda.

For rural communities, the theft of machinery and equipment can have a serious impact on livelihoods, businesses and everyday life.

Thatโ€™s why effective security and identification matter.

Our forensic security marking and intelligent asset identification solutions are designed to help:

๐Ÿ”น Deter theft
๐Ÿ”น Protect valuable assets
๐Ÿ”น Identify stolen property
๐Ÿ”น Support identification and recovery

Protecting rural assets means protecting the communities that rely on them.

Letโ€™s keep rural crime on the agenda.

A timely reminder that theft of agricultural machinery and ATVs remains a real concern.

VIN Chip provides multi-layered forensic security marking and asset identification to help deter theft and support the identification and recovery of stolen machinery and vehicles.

When it comes to protecting valuable machinery and ATVs, security doesnโ€™t have to stop at locks and trackers. Make your assets harder to steal and easier to identify.

๐Ÿš” Proactive checks help protect valuable machinery and assets.

Great to see the NCC CRiS PLT team, TVP Rural Crime Taskforce and TVP Commercial Vehicle Unit carrying out checks in the area on vehicles carrying plant machinery, trailers, caravans and wood chippers.

Most vehicles were in order, while officers also identified uninsured and overweight vehicles and provided valuable crime prevention advice.

Forensic security marking adds another layer of protection, helping deter theft and support the identification and recovery of stolen assets.

Partnership working and proactive prevention make a difference. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿšจ 27 stolen caravans recovered in July 2026.

Thatโ€™s 27 caravan owners who have had their stolen assets identified and recovered.

The combined power of VIN Chip and NCC CRiS helps police identify stolen caravans and return them to their registered keepers.

๐Ÿ” Why VIN Chip? A VIN Chipped caravan is harder to disguise, sell or re-register if stolen, giving you an added layer of protection for your investment.

Police forces including Police Scotland, Cheshire, Cumbria, Lincolnshire and Essex carried out the highest numbers of CRiS searches last month.

๐Ÿšœ What a fantastic couple of days with the CFMOTO UK team!

VIN Chip was proud to be part of the launch of the all-new CFMOTO C Platform, bringing together dealers and industry partners to unveil the next generation of CFORCE ATVs โ€“ the CFORCE C4 AGRI, CFORCE C4 EPS and CFORCE C5.

It was brilliant to catch up with so many dealers, hear their feedback and see the excitement surrounding these impressive new machines. Events like this are a great reminder of the value of strong partnerships and the importance of working closely with manufacturers and dealer networks.

As CFMOTO's trusted security partner, we're proud to help protect these valuable ATVs with VIN Chip's forensic security marking and intelligent asset management solutions, giving owners greater confidence against theft from day one.

A big thank you to Harry Hinkley and Jasmine Kent and the entire CFMOTO UK team for their warm hospitality and for putting on such a successful launch. It was also inspiring to hear Steve Judge ask the question, "What is your gold?"โ€”a message that really resonated with everyone in the room.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing the new CFORCE range to market. We can't wait to see these machines hard at work on farms, estates and trails across the UK.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Were you at the launch, or are you looking forward to seeing the new CFORCE range? Let us know your favourite model or feature in the comments!

Another stolen caravan identified and recovered thanks to partnership working and secure identification.

This is exactly why VIN Chip forensic security marking and NCC CRiSCRiS registration matter. They help law enforcement verify an asset's identity, trace its history, and support recovery when theft occurs.

Deter. Protect. Identify.

During the week, officers seized a caravan in West Berkshire as it was suspected to have been stolen.

Our specially trained officers; working with partner agencies at Interpol & NCC, have been able to confirm that it was stolen from Germany

๐Ÿšจ 26 Stolen Caravans Recovered in June 2026

Every recovery is good news, but the best protection starts before a theft happens.

Through the combined power of VIN Chip and NCC CRiS (Central Registration & Identification Scheme), caravan owners and manufacturers can help deter theft, protect valuable assets and support swift police identification if the worst happens.

The police forces carrying out the highest number of CRiS searches in June included Cheshire, Cumbria, Lincolnshire, Police Scotland and Essex.

Day 2 in Moldova

The practical sessions of the Heavy Equipment Identification Masterclass, delivered as part of INTERPOL HQ Project Formatrain, gave attending police officers the opportunity to put their new skills into action.

From identifying machinery to verifying vehicle identities and carrying out inspections, the hands-on exercises helped build the confidence and expertise needed to tackle equipment and vehicle crime more effectively.

A huge well done to every officer who took part. Your professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment throughout the course have been outstanding.

Nick Mayell said: "It is always a pleasure to work alongside such dedicated professionals committed to tackling vehicle and equipment crime across Europe."

A big thank you as well to all the trainers for delivering another exceptional programme packed with practical knowledge and real-world experience.
