Polly lost two of her kittens last night. The 3rd is critical in the vets.

£1313 raised last night with the psychic night last night. A really lovely evening ❤️ thank you to everyone who attended or helped 💕

Sadly - the night didn’t end well, as Toby hasn’t been well at all. His resp rate went sky high and he was taken to the vets. He’s still in the vets and has been on oxygen all night. We are still trying to find out what is wrong with him, as he was also in Cavan all day Friday too. We didn’t get home until 2am this morning 😭😭😭

We have awful news about Polly’s kittens too,
Last night they were racing around and absolutely fine, 2 hours later one collapsed and Polly rushed all 3 to the vets. We lost one despite all amazing efforts from the vets, and then early this morning we lost a second. Only one remains alive - and in the vets under constant monitoring. We have decided to post mortem - as we now suspect something congenital with this litter - but we just cannot know for certain. We need to know if it’s this rare mutation of FIP or something else. So it’s just another cost- but we need to know. I cannot tell you how much Polly and Bella are suffering in the last few weeks with all these losses. It’s truly heartbreaking.

£1300 raised last night, but Tobys estimate is 2.5k and 1k plus with the kittens at the other vets…. We are just drowning. 11k to find by Friday and not really seeing how on earth we can do this anymore 😭

Any help with the bill is appreciated - we need to raise 11k and we are miles off. 😭😭😭

And to top it off - being called scammers for our last invoice post. If anyone thinks that do pop into Cavan vets and ask to see our accounts 😭
They are open 9-7 every day of the week.

The 11k bill is for over 50 cats being treated in a 2 weekly timeframe.

Beautiful Smokey had a vet visit yesterday to decide on what continuing treatment she needs to keep her comfortable and happy. As you may know, she has a large tumour on the top of her tail - which we have been treating with oral steroids and topical antiseptic/anaesthetic spray, as anything more aggressive would just not be fair on her at the grand old age of 20. However, on Thursday, the growth starting oozing puss, suggesting it was infected. 😿
Vet examination confirmed this on Saturday, so she has now had a long lasting antibiotic injection and is taking daily anti inflammatory/pain relief medicine. It does not seem to be causing her too much discomfort - she is still eating well and coming for fusses. We will monitor her closely though and review the plan if her condition changes. 💊
We know we cannot cure or even really slow the progression of this disease for her - but whilst she is happy and engaging with life, she will continue to receive all the love and care she could ask for. ❤️‍🩹

So, beautiful Meg visited the vets yesterday for a pre-homing check up. We know he has hyperthyroidism and is on medication for this - but since he lost his dad a couple of months ago, the dose needed checking to ensure it was still effective. 💊
He was SO good - letting the vet examine him, and the nurses take bloods, without a murmur. His results showed his thyroxine level was too high (as expected), so we have increased his Thyronorm dose and will then recheck it in a few weeks. 💉
Other than that, his blood results showed a very healthy boy, whose daddy made sure he always had his annual booster vaccinations and flea/worm treatments - so he was clearly very loved. ❤️
Now that his medication has been increased, we expect him to put a little bit of weight on (he is slightly underweight for his build), and to maybe feel a little less lethargic… but here he is making the most of the September sun this afternoon in my garden 🌞

Peaches has been struggling this week and losing weight so we started her on antiobiotics and all the usual stuff for upset tummies but she has deteriorated and has been back at the vets today where she has had a change of antibiotics and will be back in on monday for further tests

If the tests do not show much more than we already know then she will need a referral to a specialist - at 14 weeks old she now weighs the same as a 5 week old even though she has a very big appetite 😭😭

Keep praying for her, she is such a sweet baby who deserves the chance after nearly being euthanased at birth along with her 2 sisters (who are now in a loving home) and her mum (who is 16 years old and in a lovely long term foster home) 😭😭

I hate begging I really do… but this is due in 7 days and we literally don’t even have close to that amount in the bank 😭😭😭 if I ask for extra time it just impacts the next bill, and so on. Peaches the kitten is seeing Cavan again today but isn’t getting any better so I think she will need a referral too 😭

If anyone can help, please do. The bill is one of the biggest we have had 😭
