Arms Trade Treaty in Geneva-Switzerland

The Chairperson of African Peace and Security Union , H.E Amb. Roll Stephane Ngomat is attending the twelfth Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty in Geneva, Switzerland.

In his address, He urged African states to full Domesticate all provisions of the Arms Trade Treaty into their national legislation.

He also emphasized that combating the illicit proliferation of small arms and light weapons requires increased and coordinated participation from state actors, the private sector, and the international community in order to achieve lasting peace and prosperity.

During his working visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, the chairperon of African Peace and Security Union had the honor of being received by His Majesty King III of Eswatini, formerly Swaziland.

The Chairperson congratulated his Majesty on his enlightened leadership in promoting peace and security in Africa and on the important role the Kingdom of Eswatini plays within the AU Peace and Security Council and within the promotion of Silencing the Guns Initiatives
aimed at ending all wars, civil conflicts, and gender-based violence while preventing genocide across the African continent

On March 29, 2026, in Malabo, on the sidelines of the 11th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the (African, Caribbean and Pacific States), African Peace and Security Union participated in the OACPS Business Summit, chaired by His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of the Republic of Gabon, Head of State.

This high-level summit, bringing together investors and private sector stakeholders, pursued a clear objective: to transform economic opportunities into concrete, funded projects.

This high-level presidential dialogue also facilitated collaboration between public decision-makers and business leaders on project structuring.

Discussions focused primarily on:

On March 27- 29, 2026, Chairperson of African Peace and Security Union HEM Roll Stephane Ngomat participated in the 11th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Organisation of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, under the theme: "A Transformed and Renewed OACPS in a Changing World," chaired by His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema , President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

This high-level meeting allowed us to rethink the balances and strengthen the voice of Member States in a changing world. We shared a clear ambition: a stronger, more united, and forward-looking organization.

The African Peace and Security Union extend it's warmest congratulations to President Cyril Ramaphosa and the entire G20 United States team for the resounding success of this historic event, which marks the first G20 summit held on African soil and demonstrates that Africa has the potential to be the next engine of global growth.

We are confident that this summit will pave the way for positive outcomes for global economic and political stability
