Last night saw another superb performance by the Hobblers at Maison Henri 1V at St Valery en caux they thrilled the packed audience with their special renditions a very good evening was had by all
Look out for their next performance!

On this weekend of remembrance of the sacrifice of the 51st Highland division in June 1940 I would like to think that all of those brave men are remembered
There is a small quiet churchyard at Le Hanourd near to Cany Barville where two of these men lay
There is no CWG plaque to tell you where they lie [ although recorded on the CWG site ] and no CWG headstone but a headstone provided by the local people
One of these men is WARRANT OFFICER CLASS II WILLIAM COOPER Service Number: 6780189 Royal Artillery
H.Q. 101 Lt. A.A./Anti-Tank Regt.
who died 11th June 1940 Age 35 years old

The other soldier is an unknown member of the 51st HD

It would be nice if these graves could be visited on this memorable weekend by as many people as possible

51st Highland division grave sites from 1940 near to St Valery en Caux and Veules les Roses The distances involved to vist these sites are very small from Veules les Roses To St Valery approx 5 miles also in easy distance are Cany Barville , Veulette sur mer, Houdetot , Le Hanouard, Paluel, Angiens ,Etalleville,Envronville,Mannevillees Plains ,Ourville en Caux,Ouainville, Varengville sur mer, Vittefleur Thes are many of the sites for members of the 51st Highland division who were Killed in 1940 in and around St Valery en Caux many will be found in the local Churchyards and were buried and the graves cared for by the local French people more info can be found at https://www.ww2cemeteries.com/seine-maritime.htm 0or on the CWGC site

Commemoration of the 51st Highland division in 2022 at St Valery En Caux Normandie.
The commemorations of the Battle Of St Valery en Caux will take place on Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26, 2022.
Calling all pipers and Scottish Pipe band members from single pipers to whole pipe bands and historic organisations who are available to attend this commemoration of the 51st Highland Division

Les commémorations de la bataille de St Valery en Caux auront lieu les samedi 25 et dimanche 26 juin 2022.
