I’m going back to school! I was accepted for this MA back in 2021 but pulled out because I knew that full time work plus house renovation at the time would not make studying for another masters sustainable. But now I’m ready to dive in! Very excited 😁

I was fan-girling a bit yesterday…. I was in London with hubbie for his retirement drinks and dinner, and had a bit of time to myself during the day so was strolling around looking at churches and looking for somewhere to do a bit of work on my laptop. And by total serendipity I found myself walking past 21 Soho, which was the bar that .beale did up in the final to win Interior Design Masters. So I took it as a sign! I sat and did my work there and soaked up the vibe 💚☕️🍸

My son bought me this book ‘Slow Drinks’ and it (1) reminded me that I had another gorgeous book called ‘Harvest’ and (2) really inspired me to create 2 seasonal ‘amaro’ jars - they’re macerations of botanicals - most I already had in the garden, but a couple I invested in at the garden centre - in alcohol. You steep them for 4-6 weeks, shake them every day, strain them and mix with sugar syrup, and then you can use them to create cocktails. Watch this space for how my Marigold Amaro and Autumn Mugwort Amaro (made with mugwort gathered from Avalon by 🌹🤗) turn out. I’m thinking witchy cocktails come Samhain 🧙🍸

August is a bit of a rest and recuperate month for me as my knee has been injured and I have had some other health challenges to navigate…. But I do love to create beautiful spaces - so between hosting summer travellers to this beautiful national park, I brought together some odds and ends from around the place to turn the entrance hall to our yoga studio space into an embryonic shop space! More beautifications coming soon 💫

AAAND look what was waiting for me… Iona prayer beads by Paisely Honey!!!!
The cross is a replica of the carved stone St Martin’s cross on Iona…. And it’s a womb awakening cross! There may be others, but I have long been looking for this exact iconography of the eight gates of the royal road: three womb gates of Maiden, Lover-Mother, Crone; and four elemental gates around the 8th gate of the womb void. Thank you to Seren Bertrand / The Modern Enchantress for pointing out this iconography on Iona! Guess where my next personal pilgrimage will take me…..

Gratitude to the Goddess Conference for inviting me to tell the story of the Lady of Llyn y Fan Fach, a Welsh Lady of the Lake, and how her story mirrors my own, and brings healing and hope 🦢💦
