H.E. Shozab Abbas, Ambassador of Pakistan to Ethiopia gave a public lecture on “Comparative Analysis of Indus Basin Treaty and Declaration of Principles (DoP) –2015 Emerging Cooperation in Nile River Basin” at Ethiopian Civil Service University.

During the Q&A session, the Ambassador answered the questions put forth by the participants in detail. Attendees including Dr. Lema Gudisa, Academic Vice President and Dr. Temesgen A. Head, School of Diplomacy and International Relations thanked and appreciated Ambassador’s presentation to explain geopolitical complexities from transboundary hydrological resources in South Asia and Nile River Basin and emphasized to promote cooperation for Basin-wide development.

I am excited to share with you my book on Peace and Security in Ethiopia. Throughout my extensive research and personal experiences, I aim to provide readers with an in-depth analysis of the history, current state, and potential future of peace and security in Ethiopia.

As one of the most populous countries in Africa, Ethiopia has witnessed conflict and instability over the years. However, recent developments in the country give hope for a better and more peaceful future. In my book, I explore the various factors that have contributed to the current state of peace and security in Ethiopia.

I begin by examining the root causes of conflict and the history of violence in Ethiopia, such as ethnic tensions and political instability. Then, I delve into the current state of the country's peace and security landscape, including the role of government and civil society, regional dynamics, and international involvement.

Additionally, I offer insights on potential solutions towards achieving lasting peace and security in Ethiopia. These include addressing ethnic tensions, promoting democratic values, and fostering economic development.

As an Ethiopian myself, I have a personal investment in the peaceful development of my country, and I believe that this book will contribute to the ongoing dialogue and efforts towards a more secure, prosperous, and peaceful Ethiopia.
