En Casa Tossal, cada detalle responde a una misma lógica material y geométrica. Una paleta de materiales reducida, donde el hormigón, la madera y los tejidos naturales conviven para crear espacios serenos y equilibrados.

Desde la continuidad de las carpinterías hasta la modulación de los techos de madera o la integración del mobiliario, cada elemento ha sido cuidadosamente diseñado para formar parte de un mismo conjunto.

En Casa Tossal, el hormigón forma el estrato base y se pliega para generar sombra. Los patios lo perforan para introducir luz y vegetación. La madera construye un segundo plano en el interior y las lamas verticales filtran el sol y cambian su dibujo a lo largo del día. La piscina cierra la secuencia con una última horizontal, esta vez de agua, sobre el jardín.

El sistema de lamas verticales correderas, que pueden esconderse por completo entre los muros, protege del sol y de las vistas cuando se despliega.

In Casa Tossal, concrete forms the base layer and folds to create shade. The courtyards puncture it, bringing in natural light and vegetation. Wood creates a second layer in the interior, while vertical slats filter sunlight and cast changing patterns throughout the day. The swimming pool completes the sequence with a final horizontal plane, this time of water, overlooking the garden.

The system of sliding vertical slats, which can be completely concealed within the walls, provides protection from the sun and privacy when extended.

En Casa Tossal, la zona de noche se organiza a lo largo de un pasillo que mantiene siempre una vista hacia el exterior al fondo.

A un lado se encuentran las habitaciones, abiertas hacia el jardín privado y la piscina. Al otro, se distribuyen las zonas húmedas, interrumpidas por dos patios que introducen luz natural y vegetación, rompiendo la continuidad del recorrido.

La luz que se filtra crea una atmósfera especialmente cálida y serena.

At Casa Tossal, the sleeping area is organised along a corridor that maintains a constant view of the outdoors at its far end.

On one side, the bedrooms open onto the private garden and swimming pool. On the other, the bathrooms are arranged along the corridor, interrupted by two courtyards that bring in natural light and vegetation, breaking up the continuity of the passage.

The filtered light creates a particularly warm and serene atmosphere.

Desde la entrada de Casa Tossal se ve el jardín posterior al otro lado de la vivienda. No hay un hall cerrado, sino un espacio de paso amplio que separa el cuerpo principal en dos zonas: la zona de día a un lado y la zona de noche al otro.

En el punto donde se encuentran ambas alas, se presenta la escultural escalera. Su primer peldaño tiene mayores dimensiones que el resto y funciona casi como una pequeña plataforma, en la línea de las plataformas de acceso desde el jardín.

From the entrance of Casa Tossal, the rear garden is visible on the other side of the house. Rather than an enclosed entrance hall, a spacious passageway divides the main volume into two areas: the living spaces on one side and the bedrooms on the other.

At the point where both wings meet, a sculptural staircase takes centre stage. Its first step is larger than the others, functioning almost as a small platform, echoing the platforms that provide access from the garden.

En Casa Tossal la carpintería sigue la misma lógica de continuidad que el resto de materiales de la vivienda.

Un rodapié de unos veinte centímetros recorre paredes y puertas sin interrupción, de forma que las hojas casi desaparecen dentro de los paños.

El papel pintado, con dibujo en espiga en tonos grises y beige, cubre paredes y frentes de armario en el salón de puros y le da a esta sala un carácter más íntimo.

En la cocina, el microcemento de la fachada se traslada al mobiliario, con perfiles de madera en forma de H que marcan las juntas entre módulos.

At Casa Tossal, the joinery follows the same principle of continuity as the other materials throughout the house.

A skirting board approximately twenty centimetres high runs uninterrupted along walls and doors, allowing the door leaves to almost disappear into the surrounding surfaces.

Wallpaper with a herringbone pattern in shades of grey and beige covers the walls and wardrobe fronts in the cigar lounge, giving the space a more intimate atmosphere.

In the kitchen, the microcement used on the façade is carried through to the cabinetry, with H-shaped wooden profiles defining the joints between modules.

En Casa Tossal, el tejido tiene un papel importante.

Una trama natural con aspecto próximo al tatami reviste las puertas correderas de la zona de día y aparece también en el mobiliario fijo.

En el pasillo que conecta las habitaciones, ese mismo tejido cubre puertas, armarios y hojas pivotantes con una superficie continua, lo que reduce visualmente la profundidad del pasillo.

El material se introduce en las habitaciones infantiles y juveniles como un zócalo alto que integra cabeceros, mesillas y escritorios en una sola pieza.

At Casa Tossal, fabric plays an important role in the interior design.

A natural woven material with a tatami-like appearance covers the sliding doors in the living areas and is also incorporated into the built-in furniture.

In the corridor connecting the bedrooms, the same fabric covers doors, wardrobes and pivoting panels, creating a continuous surface that visually reduces the depth of the corridor.

In the children’s and teenagers’ bedrooms, the material is used as high wall panelling, integrating headboards, bedside tables and desks into a single element.

En Casa Tossal, el diseño de interiores se plantea con pocos materiales y una paleta de color reducida, buscando que las distintas estancias se lean como parte de un mismo conjunto.

Las paredes quedan lisas, en blanco roto, y ayudan a difundir la luz. Sobre ellas, los techos de la zona de día incorporan grandes paños de madera cuyo despiece reproduce la misma modulación que el encofrado del hormigón tablilleado exterior.

Este material aparece también dentro de la vivienda, en las chimeneas del salón principal y del salón de puros, construidas como piezas macizas.

At Casa Tossal, the interior design is based on a limited selection of materials and a restrained colour palette, creating a sense of continuity throughout the different spaces.

The walls are smooth and finished in off-white, helping to diffuse natural light. Above them, the ceilings in the living areas feature large wooden panels whose layout follows the same modular pattern as the board-formed concrete on the exterior.

This concrete also appears inside the house, in the fireplaces of the main living room and the cigar lounge, designed as solid, monolithic elements.

Casa Tossal se organiza en planta en forma de L. Una línea horizontal de hormigón tablilleado recorre el perímetro de la planta baja y aporta espesor visual al volumen, en contraste con otros paños resueltos en microcemento de acabado más liso.

En la fachada interior, ese mismo hormigón se pliega hacia fuera y forma un voladizo que protege del sol los grandes ventanales del salón, el comedor y la cocina. Debajo aparece un espacio de sombra entre el interior y el jardín que no se lee del todo como interior ni como exterior.

El ala corta de la L alberga la zona de día: salón, comedor, sala de puros y cocina, mientras que el ala larga acoge la zona de noche, con las habitaciones organizadas a lo largo de un pasillo y abiertas hacia el jardín privado y la piscina.

Casa Tossal has an L-shaped floor plan. A horizontal band of board-formed concrete runs along the perimeter of the ground floor, adding visual depth to the volume in contrast with other surfaces finished in smoother microcement.

On the inner façade, this same concrete folds outwards to form a cantilever that shades the large windows of the living room, dining room and kitchen. Beneath it, a shaded space emerges between the interior and the garden, belonging neither entirely to the inside nor the outside.

The shorter wing of the L houses the daytime areas: living room, dining room, cigar lounge and kitchen, while the longer wing accommodates the bedrooms, arranged along a corridor and opening onto the private garden and swimming pool.

Casa Tossal parte de una condición simple: un terreno en pendiente y una arquitectura que necesita encontrar su lugar sobre él. En vez de excavar una única cota o alzar un volumen cerrado, el proyecto construye una nueva topografía.

Una sucesión de plataformas de hormigón desactivado acompaña la llegada desde la calle y va convirtiendo el terreno en arquitectura. La última de esas plataformas atraviesa la vivienda.

La piscina se eleva también sobre el terreno y se construye con planos y plataformas, con un borde desbordante que sirve de fondo visual al jardín.

Casa Tossal begins with a simple condition: a sloping site and an architecture that needs to find its place within it. Rather than excavating a single level or raising an enclosed volume, the project creates a new topography.

A sequence of exposed-aggregate concrete platforms guides the approach from the street, gradually transforming the terrain into architecture. The final platform extends through the house itself.

The swimming pool is also elevated above the ground, formed by a series of planes and platforms, with an infinity edge that creates a visual backdrop for the garden.

Muy contentos de compartir nuestro nuevo proyecto: Casa Tossal.

Una vivienda unifamiliar de nueva planta en Campolivar que resuelve la pendiente de su terreno mediante una sucesión de plataformas horizontales de hormigón, madera y agua.

Arquitectura, diseño de interiores e iluminación se conciben desde una misma lógica material y geométrica, construyendo estrato a estrato el paisaje necesario para habitar la parcela.

A new-build single-family house in Campolivar. The project resolves the slope of its site through a series of horizontal platforms in concrete, timber and water.

Architecture, interior design and lighting all follow the same material and geometric logic, building layer by layer the landscape the site needs to be inhabited.
