On August 31st, H.E Ambassador José Manuel Pascual García gave the welcome address at the “ESADE in South Africa” event in Pretoria.

As part of the ESADE Around the World Initiative—which traveled through Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Johannesburg, and Pretoria—this session offered South African students and young professionals a direct window into studying in Spain 🇪🇺🎓

Thank you to Ursi Van der Herten and the Esade Business & Law School team as well as the University of Pretoria for making this inspiring evening of networking and learning possible!

From the Embassy of Spain in Pretoria, we are delighted to invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Mirrored Futures”, a unique artistic dialogue featuring the prominent Spanish photographer Paula Anta alongside South African sculptor Cassian Robbertze.

Curated by Ashraf Jamal and presented in partnership with Artyli Gallery, this showcase explores the visual and conceptual intersections of nature, identity, and time through contemporary photography and sculpture.

🇪🇸🇿🇦 Spain takes the stage at JOMBA! 2026

The 28th JOMBA! Contemporary Dance Experience is bringing some of the most exciting contemporary dancers to Durban from 26 August to 7 September — and this year, Spain is proudly part of the programme.

We are delighted to welcome Iron Skulls Co., the Barcelona-based choreographic collective known for its innovative fusion of breakdance, hip-hop, physical theatre and contemporary dance.

Iron Skulls Co. will present Accumulation of Unaccountable Awakenings, a new creation developed in collaboration with South African choreographer Tebby W.T. Ramasike. The piece brings together the company’s explosive urban physicality with Ramasike’s distinctive Afro-Butoh practice, exploring memory, resistance, spirituality and healing.

We were delighted to attend España 2026 show at the Atterbury Theatre, a beautiful showcase of passion, talent, and tradition through flamenco dance.

The Ambassador of Spain was honoured to be present, supporting initiatives that bring Spanish culture closer to audiences abroad, and strengthen cultural ties between Spain and South Africa.
