Ground Floor
The main entrance leads to the front lawn of the building which contains a collection of paintings that tells the story of digging the Suez Canal,
,in addition to some parts of marine equipment placed as statues on bases of pharaonic bricks(anchor-propeller Blade –cutter tooth –winch reel) the front lawn also includes a technical workshop, a technical office , a security office and a

group of wooden seats for visitors. The back lawn includes a mural of red & yellow copper embodying late president Naser , late president sadat and an Egyptian farmer carrying welfare Egypt. First Floor
At the corridor of the ground floor, the visitor can see pictures of the 12 SCA ex-chairmen since the digging so far, six of them are French: ferdinan de lessepse (1855-1894) , Gul Jeichar (1894-1896) , prince Auguste Darragh Mpere (1896-1913) . Charle Gunnar (1913-1927) , Marqeeze de Fuje (1927-1948) , Monsieur Francois Charle Rowe (1948-1956). Then came the nationalization stage when the suez canal returned to be managed fully by an Egyptian administration headed by six chairmen respectively as follows : Dr. Helmi Bahgat Badawi (1956-1957) , Eng .Mahmoud Younis (1957-1965) ,Eng. Mashhour Ahmed Mashhour (1965-1983) , Eng. Mohammed Ezzat Adel(1984-1995) , Admiral Ahmed Fadel (1996-2012), Admiral Mohab Mohammed Hussein Mameesh (2012- till now). There is also an album explaining the biography of the SCA ex-chairmen since the opening up till now. First Floor: contains three halls and a corridor. The first hall is equipped with audiovisual aids for visual displays and can accommodate 40 seats. It also contains 14 drawings and two maps of Suez Canal channel. The second Hall (Hall of the Digging)
The hall includes 32 drawings depicting the history of Suez Canal since the pharoes era, when the Red sea and the Mediterranean sea were connected through the River Nile , passing through the project study when Khedive saeed granted the canal franchise to De lessepse , till the actual start of digging and how the Egyptian farmer suffered from servitude and to what extent the digging machinery and equipment were improved through the use of dredgers , hand vans etc.., then, the drawings continue to depict the water arrival from Port-Said to Suez through the canal , thus the two seas were connected and navigation started pursuant to the transit law drafted by Constantinople agreement . Visitors can also sea drawings showing the evolution of shipbuilding industry starting from sailing ships till steamships. The hall also contains a Marquette of the administrative building of the Maritime Suez canal company built in 1861, in addition to a statue of the Egyptian Farmer who participated in the digging, and a photos album telling the history of the canal digging. The third Hall (Hall of the Inauguration)


It includes 29 paintings showing the Inauguration ceremony in 1869 , the Invitation from sent by Ferdinan de Lessepse and Khedive Ismail to world Kings and leaders to attend the ceremony headed by Queen Eugenie of France , the Historical plat form on which the world leaders sat during the ceremony in addition to the luxury banquet and furniture . The hall also contains a Marquette of the Doom building in Port Said, built in the Islamic architecture, used as the administrative Headquarter of the International Maritime Suez Canal company in Port Said in 1895. There is also a Marquette of De Lessepse Building, the first building in Ismailia to be built according to the French architecture. It was used as a house For De Lessepse , and as a headquarter from which he was managing the Suez Canal . Visitors can find also a photo album showing the most important figures of the Inauguration ceremony in 1869. Ground Floor: On top of the stairs connecting the ground floor with the First Floor, there is a hand-painted mural of the Suez Canal since its digging up till now. On the right side, visitors can find an old carpet, hand-made copper Kitchen tools of the 19th century, in addition to a Marquette of the ancient Nuns Building in Port Said during the inauguration ceremony of the Suez Canal in 1869. Jules Guichard was the second chairman at the Suez Canal after Ferdinand de Lesseps, He took office in Mid-December 1894 until July 17 1896 and he passed away on 17 July 1896.

He had a good friendship with the Algerians, he was born in Lyon on 10 December 1827, he was elected a member of the city council in Lyon then later on he became the president of it, he did his best to end the French occupation on Algeria.
He became the president of the supreme council of agriculture. He established a gas company in Paris, he used to determine tolls without resorting to the Egyptian government.

Mr. Jules Guichard decided to have a villa to be administered navigation traffic of the Canal in 1869, this villa has subsequently become the Historical Gallery, this building is located at a near distance from the Sailing Club in Gomrouk ST. characterized by its French architecture, and covered with red tiles, the two-story building overlooking the Suez Canal which dates back to post-digging, the main entrance of the villa leads to the front park and backyard. In the park, there are the atelier, the technical office, and the security office.
when you reach at Sala Bridge you will find " Aluzama Street", that bridge was named after the French engineer San Francois de Sala, Aluzama street is about 350 meters long, later on that street's name was changed to be Jules Guichard.

On the corner of that street, there is a big tree next to Sala Bridge, under that tree English cannons were laid to strike the Egyptian commandos in 1959.

Admiral Mohab Mameesh ,Chairman & Managing Director of the Suez Canal Authority, visited the Historical Gallary on Thursday 27/09/2018 with Major General khaled Al-Azazy the chairman's advisor for Public Relations, Major General Samah Kandil the chairman's advisor for secuirty, Brigadier Mekhemer the Director Office of Admiral Mohab Mameesh, and Major Amr Hamid the Supervisor of Security Office at the Suez Canal to follow-up on the the work of the Musuem, and overviewing the most recent audio-visual aids in order to narrate the history of the Suez Canal in Arabic, English, and French. Besides collecting and documenting the historical paintings which were painted by French artists. Those 100 paintings will be placed at Al-Ershad building for documenting the history of the Suez Canal.
