"رئيس اللجنة البارالمبية الدولية يزور الأوكسا .. تعاون تاريخي لتعزيز الرياضة البارالمبية في إفريقيا"
في خطوة تاريخية تعزز من مكانة الرياضة الأفريقية، قام السيد/ أندرو بارسون، رئيس اللجنة البارالمبية الدولية وعضو اللجنة الاولمبية الدولية، بزيارة رسمية لمقر اتحادية الكونفدراليات الرياضية الأفريقية (الأوكسا) في استاد القاهرة الدولي، حيث كان في استقباله اللواء أحمد ناصر، رئيس الأوكسا.
جاءت هذه الزيارة الرفيعة المستوى في أعقاب زيارة رئيس اللجنة البارالمبية الدولية وعضو اللجنة الاولمبية الدولية السيد/ أندرو بارسون لفخامة رئيس جمهورية مصر العربية الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي أمس، وبدعم من معالي وزير الشباب والرياضة الدكتور/ أشرف صبحي.
وشهد اللقاء حضور السيد الدكتور/ حسام الدين مصطفى رئيس اللجنة البارالمبية المصرية والدكتور/عماد البناني امين عام الاوكسا والدكتورة/ ندا مشعل المدير التنفيذي للأوكسا، في إطار سعي الجانبين إلى تعزيز التعاون المشترك ودفع عجلة التنمية الرياضية في القارة السمراء.
وأكد السيد/ أندرو بارسون خلال اللقاء على أهمية الدور الذي تلعبه الأوكسا في تطوير الرياضة الأفريقية، مشيدًا بالجهود التي يبذلها اللواء أحمد ناصر والاوكسا لتحقيق هذا الهدف. وصرح بارسون بانه مسرور للغاية بزيارة الأوكسا والالتقاء باللواء أحمد ناصر وإن الأوكسا تلعب دوماً دورًا حيويًا في تطوير الرياضة الأفريقية، وانه متأكد من أن تعاوننا سيساهم في تحقيق امال وطموحات اللجنة البارالمبية الدولية في افريقيا مع الاتحاد القاري المعني بالرياضة.
من جانبه، رحب اللواء أحمد ناصر بزيارة السيد/ أندرو بارسون، مؤكدًا أن هذه الزيارة تأتي في وقت حاسم، حيث تسعى الأوكسا إلى تعزيز مكانة الرياضة الأفريقية على الساحة الدولية للرياضات الاولمبية والغير اولمبية والنوعية وقال ناصر: "إننا نعتبر التعاون مع اللجنة البارالمبية الدولية شراكة استراتيجية تساهم في تحقيق أهدافنا المشتركة.
"IPC President Visits UCSA: Significant cooperation to Boost Paralympic Sports in Africa"
In a landmark move to elevate the status of African sports, H.E Mr. Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and member of the International Olympic Committee, made an official visit to the headquarters of the Association of African Sports Confederations UCSA at Cairo International Stadium, where he was warmly received by H.E Major General Ahmed Nasser, President of UCSA.
This high-level visit follows the IOC Member and IPC President's meeting with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the previous day and was further supported by H.E Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports.
The meeting was also attended by Honorable Dr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa, President of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, Dr. Emad El-Bannani, Secretary-General of UCSA, and Dr. Nada Mashal, Executive Director, as both parties sought to strengthen cooperation and drive the development of sports on the African continent.
During the meeting, Mr. Andrew Parsons emphasized the crucial role played by UCSA in the development of African sports, commending the efforts of Major General Ahmed Nasser and UCSA in achieving this goal, additionally, H.E Mr. Parsons expressed his immense pleasure at visiting UCSA and meeting with H.E Major General Ahmed Nasser, stating that UCSA always played a vital role in developing African sports, and he is confident that their collaboration will contribute to realizing the IPC's aspirations and ambitions in Africa alongside the continental sports confederations.
In turn, Major General Ahmed Nasser welcomed H.E Mr. Andrew Parsons' visit, affirming that it comes at a pivotal time as UCSA strives to enhance the position of African sports on the international stage for all its member confederations whether Olympic, non-Olympic, or thematic sports.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Nasser took the opportunity to reiterate the strategic importance of the cooperation with IPC, stating, 'Our cooperation with the IPC is a strategic partnership that contributes to achieving our common goals.'
