Global Trade Matters S.A.E. Global Trade Matters is a unique company; Egypt’s first profit based Private Sector Think Tank for

Global Trade Matters is Egypt's only and leading private sector think tank for economic and political reform policy. Our main objective is to embark on real steps towards sustainable economic growth and real political reform. We strongly believe that true democracy can never be achieved without a sound and efficient economic strategy. We are interested in reviewing Article 4 of Chapter 1 of the Eg

yptian Constitution and revisiting Articles 23 to 39 of Chapter 2 of the Constitution. We aspire to the reduction of government intervention in our markets and deregulation, creating a true free market economy which is not manipulated or controlled by corruption, unfair business practices or foreign interventions. We call for the restructuring of the financial sector to better serve Small & Medium Enterprises and focus on Micro-finance for small farmers. The fair distribution of wealth is also a priority on our agenda for both political and economic reform. We are also calling for a clear focus regarding Egypt's natural resources including but not limited to the Nile Basin file, Renewable energy development and the Gas export file in addition to the impact of Bilateral and Multilateral trade agreements and "Protocols" on our economy. There is a lot of work to be done and prudent planning required, so we invite you all to join us in this invigorating debate and discussion regarding Egypt's Economic Revolution. Under the Old regime we were a Think Tank, today we have become a Think and To Do Tank with projects already in the pipeline aimed at true and real economic reform.

Balancing Egypt’s Energy Needs
Cairo March 3rd 2013
Dear Distinguished Members,
Welcome to the Al Mal GTM “Egypt Energy & Economy Conference 2013” to be held on Monday the 3rd of June 2013 at the Marriott Hotel – Zamalek, Cairo.
There is no better time than now to take a closer look at balancing Egypt's current and future Energy needs. The dark reality is that daily blackouts are on the rise, while rural areas and smaller communities go weeks without electricity or clean water.
The rising cost of fuel has been putting great strain on natural resources offsetting the balance between supply and demand while the inevitable spike in USD exchange rate against the EGP is likely to result in more adverse effects on Egypt’s future energy needs. Additionally, Egypt’s energy subsidy policy, realistically, can no longer be sustained at its current levels, and hence it is vitally important that a real effort is made from all facets of society to identify the possible solutions to better managing Egypt’s Energy Resources.
The Egypt Energy & Economy Conference 2013 is the perfect venue, bringing together leaders, experts and innovators from the Energy sector to openly discuss the challenges facing Egypt’s Energy sector, while identifying new and suitable opportunities and solutions.
Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to participate in formulating Egypt's future Energy polices and take part in the efforts which will make a true impact, change and difference.
