🔴حقائق تاريخيّة ثابتة
Greatest at all that they thought
مع كل هذه الحضارة والازدهار الي يتمثل في التجارة والتوسع الاقتصادي ومعظم أراضي أوروبا تحت الحكم الروماني وانتشار اللغة للاتينية حول العالم:-
The unity of the empire had important economic consequences. Merchants traveled throughout the empire, but wherever they went, the Roman currency was used to buy and sell. This made trade casier. Roads built first by the conquering Roman armies were improved and extended, making it much easier for merchants to travel by land. The Roman navy controlled the seas and attacked any pirates that threatened merchant ships.
significance of the spread of Latin can still be seen in the modern world. Italian,French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanian all evolved from Latin. It was used bg;cholars and Christian pricsts throughour Europe as the language of philosophy, science, law, and religious thought for more than 1,000 years afier the fall of theRoman Empire, which is onc of the reasons that Latin poerry, philosophy, drama, andhistory are still read today. Many modern words used in scicnce also come from Latinand Greck words. In Greece and the Asian and African paris of the.empire, however)Latin was much less important. Most pcople in those areas continued to speak eitherGreckas they had donc since at least the Hellenization of the fifih century BCE—orlocal languages of their own, such as Eguptian or Aramaic.
At the end
Although the Roman Empire brought benefits, its rule could also be brutal and many people resented it. Despite the Romans' many achievements, their empire
is built by war. this is a report by Tacitus of a speech given by a Britain Chief, calgacus, before a rebellion against imperial rule. It gives a different perspective on the "Roman peace."
there is nothing but the hostile Romans, whose arrogance were cannot escape by obeying and submitting. These plunderers of the world, after exhausting the land with their devastation, are ransocking the ocean. They are excited by greed, if their enemy is rich; by ambition, if poor. They are not satisfied by the East and by the West... To ravage, to slaughter, to usurp under false titles, they call empire; and where they make a desert, they call it peace.
