On this page you will find a few websites that we would like you to be familiar with and use if applicable. This site identifies countries that have a travel warning or travel alert. This site also provides additional travel concerns you should be aware of if you

Another site is the STEP program, STEP is an acronym for Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. When you sign up you will receive the latest travel updates to the country that you would like to travel to. It will also assist you case of an emergency, such as if you lose your passport or if it is stolen while you are abroad. It also assists U.S. citizens in other emergencies, such as natural disasters. The travel and contact information you enter into the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program will make it easier for consular officers in U.S. embassies and consulates around the world to contact you and your loved ones during an emergency-including situations where your family or friends in the U.S. are having problems trying to contact you with important news. https://step.state.gov/step/
Another good website to check frequently for travel is the Center for Disease Control (CDC), you can check if there is any health concerns for the country that you're planning on traveling to. www.cdc.gov/travel/
Also, if you plan on traveling anywhere in Africa there are additional travel requirements that must be accomplished beforehand, get with your unit Antiterrorism Representative (ATR), or your spouse's unit ATR to plan that travel.
