Summer if fast approaching which means more road trips, travel, and permanent change of stations. While summer travel feels safer than winter travel in many ways, it still has it's own unique set of risks and dangers that should be accounted for. Please consider using TRiPS to assist in your travel preparations.

Did you know that driving for more than 20 hours without sleep is the equivalent of driving with a blood alcohol concentrations of 0.08%? Furthermore, the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety estimates that 21% of fatal motor vehicle mishaps involve driver fatigue!
While a good nights rest, taking breaks, and having a co-driver to share the load will help prevent driver fatigue, it doesn't help that distracted driving from phone use occurs most frequently during the summer; nearly 10% more than any other time of year.

7th Army Training Command issued a revised Annex A that aligns all on- and off-post gatherings, travel and permissions to visit off-post establishments (see actual document) with Host Nation law.

Visit www.7atc.army.mil/COVID-19/ to read the full details of the Annex A, the Tab 1 summary that explains the local host nation laws in English, the Tab 2 that explains the German Rules on Travel Between the U.S. and Germany, as well as the German Inbound Travel and the Bavarian COVID ordinances that are in place and translated into English.
