| 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻̃𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝘂𝗽 𝘂𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴

In the highlands of Barangay Lipay Este and Daking, San Gabriel, Farmer Regional Executive Director Benjamin Y. Campañano Jr. took a closer eye of the DA-funded projects and programs.

With the company of Mr. Rodolfo Abrio, PAFC La Union Chairperson, and representatives from the San Gabriel Municipal Agriculturist Office and Livestock Banner Program, the monitoring team made sure to report observations and gave recommendations to the Lipay Este Farmers Association and the Daking Farmers Irrigators Association, recipients of the projects worth Php 1,549,846.00.

These monitorings ensure that the Department of Agriculture funded projects and programs are fully utilized. If otherwise, it is the team's duty to provide reports and feedbacks to concerned parties and agencies. Rest assured that the council will continue to keep a close eye on DA's various projects and programs.

| 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻̃𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗣 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮, 𝗟𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻

All forty (40) barangays of Luna, La Union gathered at the municipality's sports stadium to receive the presidential aid for farmers and fisherfolk on 21 May 2026. Farmer Regional Executive Director Benjamin Y. Campañano Jr., along with Mr. Rodolfo Abrio, PAFC La Union Chairperson, oversaw the events that transpired.

Qualified recipients received Php 2,325.00 to subsidize farming inputs including seeds, fertilizer, and fuel with emphasis on the latter due to the recent crisis in oil shortage.

Mr. Campañano gathered observations and spoke with farmers and the local municipal agriculturist office staff. Said observations are to be raised in council meetings in the near future.

| 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗦 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴

One monitoring after the other, Farmer Regional Executive Director turned to the south, Sual, Pangasinan on 20 May 2026 to monitor the Solar Powered Irrigation System.

Located at DA-PREC, the SPIS worth Php 236, 606.72, covers a hectare used by the station for seed crops and high value crops, funded by the DA Organic Agriculture Program.

This isn't the first and surely won't be the last of our Farmer Regional Executive Director Benjamin Campañano's monitoring of DA-funded projects and programs, to realize the dream that every machinery, every facility is fully utilized by its recipients.

| 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻̃𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽

During the Research Programs Workshop held on 19-22 May 2026, at the Department of Agriculture - Pangasinan Research Center, Sual, Pangasinan, FRED Campañano delivered advice and a message, speaking as the voice of farmers all over Ilocos.

He spoke, applauding the government for their initiatives in research and different programs, however, he stated, that though brilliant, programs need to reach farmers, to be understood by the heralds of agriculture. Therefore, he urged the researchers and specialists of the Department of Agriculture Ilocos to simplify strategies. He also asked that these programs be ran through the Agricultural and Fishery Council (AFCs) before release for further collaboration.

Mr. Campañano emphasized the need to work together, government and private citizens to further improve the country's agricultural sector.

Farmer Regional Executive Director Benjamin Y. Campañano made the moms of agriculture smile with flowers as appreciation for their hard work at the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office I, on May 11, 2026, as part of the office's celebration of Mother's Day 2026.

In his message, he gave his salutations and praise for the mothers of agriculture, how their hard work is what help make greens grow and fields flourish.

On the go and not stopping, Farmer RED Benjamin Campañano, during his message at the Kapihan sa Ilocos of the Philippine Information Agency in a live forum as part of the celebration of the Farmers’ and Fisherfolk Month.

In his message, FRED Campañano emphasized the role of the Agricultural and Fishery Council (AFC) in being the voices of the masses, on being spokespersons for the farmers and fisherfolk.

“We (AFCs) are volunteers, but I’d like to think of us as partners,” he said, “Partners of the government in improving the agricultural sector for our farmers and fisherfolk.”

From voicing out concerns to passing resolutions, the Agricultural and Fishery Council of Ilocos, and in extension, the entire Philippines serves as an avenue for the people to talk and connect with the government, for the betterment of the agricultural sector of the Philippines.

In his first day as Farmer Regional Executive Director, RAFC Chairperson Benjamin Y. Campañano Jr. stood witness to the momentous turnover for the San Fabian Kadiwa Center.

Alongside Dir. Fidel L. Libao, DARFO1 Regional Executive Director, Hon. Marlyn E. Agbayani, Municipal Mayor of San Fabian, and Mr. Saturnino Distor, San Fabian MAFC Chairman, the grant amounting to ₱5,000,000.00 was turned over to the Local Government of San Fabian for the purpose of two (2) 10 ft. utility vans with one (1) 10ft. dropside airconditioned cabin.

This project aims to strengthen the Kadiwa program and the economical status of the farmers and fisherfolk in San Fabian, ensuring smooth transport of local products.

Continuing his momentum, Farmer RED Benjamin Y. Campañano Jr., set for the La Union Convention Center to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement establishing the Baroro River Watershed Management Council.

The Memorandum of Agreement is a testament to the commitment of the agency leaders in protecting the over 19,358.89 hectares covered by the watershed against soil erosion and forest fragmentation.

The event was joined by co-council chairperson, Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega and agency heads including Director Fidel L. Libao of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office I.

After witnessing Mr. Campañano’s installation as Farmer Regional Executive Director, the Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council set to work immediately at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist Office, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Presided by Engr. Orlando T. Rosquita, RAFC Vice-Chairperson, and with the presense of Ms. Doris Joy C. Garcia, RAFC Regional Executive Officer, the council approved its first resolution for the fiscal year 2026 with two more on the way.

The agenda involves the presentation of the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation mandates and activities presented by Mr. Zaldy C. Ricalde, as well as fertilizer recommendations by Mr. Crisanto T. Estonilo from the Regional Soils Laboratory.

Mr. Norman Patungan, RAFC Coordinator, also led the presentation of the Participatory Monitoring and Tracking activities of the council where volunteer farmers and fisherfolk participate in ensuring the proper ex*****on of agriculture-related government projects and programs.

The council was later joined by Farmer Regional Executive Director Benjamin Y. Campañano Jr. and Regional Executive DIirector Fidel L. Libao who expressed his thanks and welcome for the Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council.

Mr. Benjamin Y. Campañano Jr., RAFC Chairperson and our star in May 4th, 2026 was installed as Farmer Regional Executive Director for the fifth consecutive year as part of the celebration of the Farmer and Fisherfolk Month of 2026 with the theme, "Pagbibigay-pugay Para sa Magsasaka’t Mangingisda sa Gitna ng Hamon at Krisis."

“This role is both an honor and responsibility,” said the newly installed Farmer RED, Mr. Campañano in his message to the people. “. . . an opportunity to serve as a bridge between our farmers and fisherfolk communities, and our partners in the government.”

One of his roles as the Farmer Regional Executive Director is, in his own words, “Ensuring that the voices of farmers and fisherfolk are heard through policy and appropriate decision-making.” and that, he promised to uphold not only for the month of May but so long as he can in serving our farmers and fisherfolk.
