Consul General Sh. Pratik Mathur was happy to inaugurate the daylong celebrations at the historic in , the commercial capital of the region, which witnessed large-scale participation by over a thousand devotees and Buddhist scholars.
➡️ Paying homage and offering solemn prayers, CG spoke to the devotees of the timeless eternal and fostered by Buddhism, especially as the world renowned Buddha statues were brought from Myanmar 🇲🇲 in 19th century, embodying the strong cultural and soft power bonds between India, South East Asia and the larger Asia-Pacific region 🪷
➡️ Conveying best wishes for to all devotees, CG also invited the Abbott, monks of the clergy and lay guests in the audience to visit pilgrimage sites in , especially as between India and Shanghai made travel and tourism more convenient and affordable.
➡️ Welcoming the Consul General to the living Temple site on , Senior Abbot underlined the abiding cultural importance of , especially amongst the younger devotees and the Temple’s strong connections with India including through running an operational Sanskrit and Pali Studies Center for learning the original Buddhist scriptures.
➡️ CG was also happy to join the holistic healing curtain raiser event ❤️🩹🧘♂️ organized by the Venerable Tianwu and listen to the lecture on the "Medicine Master Sutra" (Bhaiṣajyaguruvaidūryaprabharāja Sūtra) during the annual Buddhist Preaching Competition at the temple, bringing together the best of our ethos, culture and traditions to the world.
