THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO - ALEXANDRE DUMAS
In the most succinct way, the Count of Monte Cristo can be summed up in 3 words: wrongdoing, prison break and revenge.
Edmond Dantes - handsome, polite and filial sailor. He floated in happy drunkenness because soon he would be the captain of the beautiful Pharaoh ship, he would marry the most wonderful woman in this life, he would be able to repay filial piety and take care of his old father. .... Edmond's great happiness came at once like a sharp thorn pinned to a lowly smiling man beside him. Tragedy came to Edmond like a storm, swept away all that was good, pushed his life into a cycle of justice, and plunged Edmond into the depths of despair....
The work carries many historical events in the early 19th century, has good philosophies about tolerance, love, and the desire to find justice. The work has an attractive plot, many dramatic scenes, belongs to the genre of classic adventure novels but the words are quite elegant and easy to read.
It is known that this is not the most complete translation of the work, but for those who are not patient enough to go through the detailed descriptions carefully, this translation is an option. Choose the right one - although there will be times when you'll be a bit surprised by the sudden transition.
The Count of Monte Cristo has always been the subject of debate for the right or wrong of revenge for the rest of his children's lives in the right style of "the father's life is salty, the child's thirst for water". Perhaps this is also a reason for the Count of Monte Cristo to have a firm place in the hearts of readers even though it was written nearly 2 centuries ago........................................................................................................

WABI SABI: JAPANESE WISDOM FOR A PERFECTLY IMPERFECT LIFE BY BETH KEMPTON
🌻 Things we can save when reading Wabi sabi - Loving imperfections
No one in this world is perfect. What if you looked at others with your heart instead of judging and valuing them with your eyes and mind? What if you let go of judgment or disappointment, and accepted them for who they are without trying to change them?
Be longing. Be talented. Be extraordinary. Follow the dreams that inspire you and be happy along the way. But don't let your ego dictate your pursuit of illusory perfection. Instead, relax knowing that perfection is an unattainable goal. Expanding your limits is what's important.
The success of others shouldn't be a barrier to getting what you want. Their success may even open up new opportunities for you and others. They will still go their own way; You should go your own way. You have everything you need to get anywhere you want.
The truth is, we can't hold on, we can't turn back; When we learn to give in to adversity, accept that it will come and go, life changes from battle to dance.
As the years go by, we apply layers of layers to our natural beauty in our endless quest for perfection - with various anti-aging creams, of accolades, titles of work, and well-protected images that we think will make others like us more. But all of them are burdens, they cover up what lies within us. It is only by shedding those layers that you allow your inner beauty to shine through........................................................................................................

SEARCH INSIDE YOURSELF - CHADE MENG TAN

In the past, whenever I faced difficulties in my life, I would turn to meditation to feel lighter and more balanced. I have also researched and read many books on meditation, but most of them have religious colors that I don't understand. Then one fine day I accidentally found and read this book, and it was as if I was sleepy and met the dawn, I felt like I was awakened and solved my problems for a long time.
The author of the book is an engineer working at Google named Chade Meng Tan. Because he is an engineer, the knowledge about meditation that he shares is very simple and easy to accept. In addition, sometimes he also integrates into the book funny stories that make him feel very interesting.
The author told me that meditation actually has nothing to do with religion. Meditation is just a training method to improve focus like you would weight training to improve strength and muscles. Every time we get distracted and refocus our attention, it's like the time we flex our arms while doing weightlifting. And our brain will become more and more "muscular".
After reading the book, I realized that concentration greatly affects a person's success. When I concentrate more, my perception also changes markedly. I am more aware of my surroundings, better aware of myself. Self-awareness helps us see clearly our thoughts and feelings. Since then, I know how to adjust, it helps me to be more confident, less worried and afraid, to improve my procrastination.
The purpose of the author when writing this book also makes me very interesting that through the book he wants to make his contribution to world peace. He wants people to find happiness and more compassion through meditation and thereby the world will be more peaceful. Very meaningful, isn't it?
This is a good book that everyone should read, it helps us to solve many problems in life and above all it helps us to have a happier life. A goal that everyone wants to achieve........................................................................................................

SAPIENS HISTORY OF HUMANITY
(Yuval Noah Harari)
Reading the title, do you think this is a dry book about biological evolution? Or do you think this is a bunch of confusing knowledge about Home Sapiens?
This is, of course, a book of history.
This is a very long, informative history book. Unlike the usual historical stories, the book is a combination of biological, technical, religious, literary and dozens of other knowledge. (I even found the names of some of the characters in the Harry Potter series right in this book.) It must be said that the information that the author wants to convey lasts from the time of our ancient ancestors until the Covid epidemic raged.
The book is a massive undertaking, yet presented in easy-to-understand and interesting language. Not dry and dogmatic, the book sometimes makes me laugh with the author's interesting deductions and comparisons.
Let's take a look at a very eloquent opinion of the author:
“The scientific revolution is not a revolution of knowledge. Above all, it is a revolution in ignorance. The great discovery that laid the groundwork for the scientific revolution was the fact that mankind had no answers to their most important questions.”
Well, the author's comment is like subverting the thoughts and knowledge that we have gathered so far. The scientific revolution is the revolution of ignorance. Do you feel disagree? Try to study all of the author's evidence in the book, you will be convinced with his reasoning.
The book consists of 4 main parts, summarizing the entire history of mankind from its formation to the present time:
Part 1: The Cognitive Revolution.
Part 2: The Agricultural Revolution
Part 3: The Unity of Mankind
Part 4: The Scientific Revolution.
This is the story of an animal that does not stand out until it becomes a god. Those who rise above all other animals, take control of the entire planet and will even go further in the future.
No matter how far we go, people are always preoccupied with big questions. Are we happier than our ancestors? And if we don't feel happier, what makes us try harder? What will be the end for humans? Will people become enslaved and perish by their own creations? Those concerns are raised and explained in a simple and close manner by the author.
Read Sapiens A Brief History of Humanity for reflection with Yuval Noah Harari's sharp assumptions and inferences.......................................................................................................

“A SHORT HISTORY OF NEARLY EVERYTHINGS” – LIFE IS THE BIGGEST MIRACLE OF CREATION
Have you ever tried asking yourself and answering questions about the Universe, life and humanity?
What do you know about the achievements of mankind in all fields such as physics, chemistry, astronomy, archaeology, biology... in trying to find answers to such questions?
Maybe not as much and not necessarily as you think.
“First, billions of atoms have to be arranged in an incredibly complex and strangely enthusiastic way to make you. That way is so special and unique that it has never existed before and only existed once.”
“Think of the fact that for 3.8 billion years, a span longer than the ages of the mountains, rivers, and oceans on Earth, each of your ancestors was attractive enough to finding a mate, healthy enough to keep the race alive, and lucky enough by fate and circumstances to live long enough and do it… In the end, amazingly and simply, all of that worked out. created you.”
Are you surprised?! Our existence is inherently magical, it's just that we often don't pay attention to it. Throughout this 722-page book are such miracles. It is strange, when a book about science, seemingly extremely dry, is presented by Bill Bryson in such a simple, witty way, to the point that there are lines that make me burst out with excitement. taste, not the knowledge it brings. Above all, the book summarizes the history of all things, from the beginning to the present day, from the microscopic to the macroscopic, from microscopic quarks to the infinitely vast universe, from evident by our side until unbelievable miracles.
Turning each page of the book, you will be on board a space-time travel ship, along with the talented and erudite captain Bill Bryson to experience this world since the whole Universe was just a "Miracle", proving witness the birth and death of the stars in the night sky, to the birth of our home Earth, and to the astonishing rapid development of humanity, the most successful species that has ever been born. ever existed.
On this cruise ship, we will encounter very familiar names, such as Newton with the Theory of Gravity, Einstein with the Theory of Relativity, Darwin with the Theory of Evolution, etc. Besides, there are countless other animals. anonymous people, silently contributing to the development of human society. For example, Henry Cavendish, an excellent scientist of the 18th century, was the first person to separate Hydrogen and combine Hydrogen and Oxygen to create water. He also calculated the mass of the Earth using only theoretical calculations, without leaving the house, it's hard to believe right?!
We will also be friends with tiny atoms - the ingredients that make up every substance in this world. And it's fun to do after knowing that:
“Each atom of you has certainly passed through several stars and been part of millions of living beings… A part of you most likely once belonged to Shakespeare, Buddha, Beethoven, Genghis Khan, or any historical figure… So we are all reincarnated, even if only to live a short life.”
You see, there are always miracles around us, and they all have a connection to ourselves. So, every time you feel bored, think about how wonderful our existence is, you will surely feel a bit better.
When the space-time ship passed through the "small world" inside each of us, I was once again admiring the effectiveness of the army of bacteria. If you are in good health, on average there will be about 1 trillion bacteria "grazing in your meat fields", and that's just the number on the surface of your skin. Can you believe it, bacteria will still be able to survive, even if the Sun and Earth explode, anyway they have existed for billions of years without humans, while we will destroy them. would be dead without these "small but martial friends". At this point, I suddenly remembered in the book "Genius on the left, the madman on the right" there is a theory, in fact this world has been, is and will always be ruled by bacteria, they only change the person holding the handle. rights, from the giant dinosaurs, to us "Homo Sapiens", all are just objects for them to parasitize. Interesting, but even then it's just an idea worth pondering over.
"A Brief History of Everything" is like a teacher, a friend, an encyclopedia of life, a witty, funny and engaging book. Science from Bill Bryson's perspective is strange, fascinating, and human. At the end of the journey, you will receive a message, which, in my opinion, is also the summary meaning behind the stories that "A Brief History of Everything" refers to. That is:
Earth – almost nothing. But even living for such a short period of time requires an almost endless streak of luck.”
SO, ENJOY EVERY MOMENT. LOVE YOURSELF, LOVE THIS LIFE MORE, BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN THE BIGGEST MIRACLE OF CREATIVE!!!.......................................................................................................

4. It Starts with Us: A Novel (It Ends with Us) by Colleen Hoover
Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas. Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller It Ends with Us.

Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.

But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.

Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).
Goodreads: 4.5 ⭐️. 39k+ rating
