The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in China extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all Diplomatic Missions, offices of United Nations Organizations, the Delegation of the European Union, the African Union, the League of Arab States in China, friends of the Embassy, and all other well-wishers for their condolence visit following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

The Embassy also wishes to express its gratitude for the kind words, prayers, support, and solidarity received from various diplomatic missions. Many of these missions personally visited the Embassy, while others sent emails, texts, and made calls during this difficult time, which marks a significant loss for both the family of the late President and the entire people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Charge D’ Affaires Embassy of Nigeria in China Ambassador Babagana Wakil, on Tuesday 22nd April 2025 received in audience the Executive Governor of Kogi State His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and his entourage at the Embassy of Nigeria.

Governor Ododo, who is on a visit to China, held a strategic meeting with the Charge d Affaires’ on important areas to further improve the friendly cooperation between Nigeria and China in areas of energy and steel.
