[Cooperation of Cameroon–Korea - Joint Ceremony of WASH & E-Government Projects]
On 16 December 2025, the KOICA Cameroon Office successfully held the Joint Ceremony of the Drinking Water Supply Project and the E-Government Project at Hilton Bouma Hall, welcoming over 350 participants from Cameroon and the Republic of Korea.
The ceremony served as a platform to share achievements and future visions of two major KOICA-supported initiatives:
• Drinking Water Supply Project in Rural Areas of Cameroon (2019–2025)
• Project for Enhancing Awareness and Capacity Building for Public Service Transformation in Cameroon
During the event, the KOICA Country Director presented KOICA’s development cooperation journey in Cameroon over the past 15 years, highlighting key project achievements across sectors and reaffirming KOICA’s strong commitment to continued partnership and future cooperation with the Government of Cameroon.
The WASH project has contributed to improving access to safe drinking water in rural communities through the construction and rehabilitation of water supply facilities, capacity building for local stakeholders, and the promotion of sustainable water management practices. The ceremony officially marked the handover of the project to MINEPAT, symbolizing national ownership and sustainability.
Meanwhile, the E-Government project focuses on strengthening public service transformation by enhancing digital awareness, institutional capacity, and human resources. The unveiling of the future e-Government training centers and exhibition hall demonstrated a shared vision toward digital governance and improved public service delivery.
High-level representatives including the Minister of MINEPAT, Secretary Generals of MINPOSTEL and MINFOPRA, UNOPS, KOICA partners, medical professionals from CURY, and other stakeholders gathered to reaffirm their commitment to sustainable development.
Through this joint ceremony, KOICA once again showcased the strong partnership between Cameroon and the Republic of Korea, working together toward inclusive development, improved quality of life, and a digitally empowered future.
