Exactly 1 year ago today, Khamzat Chimaev started a reign that felt like a storm.

For 266 days he carried the belt as the king at 185.

On May 9th, the reign ended to Sean Strickland.
As of today, Strickland still holds the title — no defense set, no date announced.

A short reign. A lasting impact.
Respect to both warriors. 👑

🚨🚨 Update: Jon Jones sends support to Dustin Poirier in regards to the airport incident.

June 21, 2026, Poirier was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for misdemeanor public intoxication after being denied boarding a Delta flight to Fort Lauderdale.

He got kicked off the flight and was visibly upset near the gate.
Poirier was yelling profanities, took off his backpack, and told an officer “I'll fight you right now. Let's go”

In Georgia it’s a misdemeanor with up to 1 year jail / $1,000 fine

He posted on Instagram after the video went viral:
“I’m at the point where I need some help. Walking away from fighting hasn’t been easy on me and alcohol isn’t the answer. It has ruined my father’s life and I will not allow it to ruin mine. My family deserve me at 100%... I’m trying to do everything I can to get my mind right”

He also wrote “Love you all, I’m working on myself”

Poirier retired after vs Holloway in July 2025. He’d previously spoken about pursuing sobriety after retirement. He’s now 37.

Bottom line: It’s a misdemeanor charge, he was released same day, and he’s publicly saying he’s struggling with post-retirement life and alcohol.

Hope he gets right. “The Diamond” was one of the most respected guys in the sport.

Islam Makhachev 🇷🇺 says his mom keeps using Khabib against him 😂

“My mom tells me, ‘Khabib listened to his mother, but you don’t want to listen.’ Recently she said, ‘I want to meet Khabib. We need to talk.’”

Islam: “What do you need to talk to him about?”
Mom: “We just need to talk.”

Islam hasn’t set up the meeting yet… because he knows if Khabib and his mom link up, his retirement might get finalized 😅

Khabib retired for his mom. Now Islam’s mom wants Khabib to return the favor. Full circle.
