Lenticular clouds are one of the most distinctive weather phenomena you can see in Torres del Paine. Recognizable by their smooth, lens-like shape, they often appear above the mountains and can remain seemingly still in the sky.

The combination of powerful winds and the terrain of the Paine Massif makes these formations particularly interesting to observe. Although they can appear at different times of the year, certain conditions make them more likely to develop above the park’s mountains.

Pumas are an essential part of Torres del Paine, one of the most remarkable landscapes to observe this iconic species in the wild. As an apex predator, the puma plays a key role in maintaining the balance of the Patagonian ecosystem.

At Las Torres Patagonia, camera traps help us monitor their presence and movements, providing valuable information to support our conservation efforts. On World Puma Day, we celebrate this extraordinary species and the importance of protecting the landscape it calls home.

Across the windswept landscapes of Patagonia, guanacos are part of the rhythm of the wild. Alert, resilient and perfectly adapted to this environment, they move across the open steppe in herds and play an essential role in the Patagonian ecosystem as the puma’s primary prey.

As we mark International Guanaco Day, we celebrate one of Patagonia’s most iconic inhabitants and the importance of protecting the landscapes that allow wildlife to thrive.

Caring for the horses of Las Torres Patagonia means giving them space to move, graze and live in a way that works with the land. Through holistic grazing, they also play an important role in the health and balance of the ecosystem around them.

But their impact goes beyond the landscape. They help create some of the moments our guests remember most, a connection to Patagonia that feels simple, genuine and deeply rooted in this place.
