This portrait of Thomas Chandler Haliburton hangs above the fireplace in our reception room. Previous to 2025 it hung in Province House in Halifax.

Haliburton was MLA for Annapolis County from 1826 to 1829. Then became Judge of the Inferior Court of Common Pleas in 1829 then appointed to the Supreme Court in 1841 after the former was abolished.

Today is the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. Today and everyday we recognize and celebrate the traditions, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

We acknowledge Clifton Museum Park is on the traditional, ancestral lands of the Mi’kmaq, known as Mi’kma’ki. Located in Pesikitk the original name of the now Windsor area. Pesikitk means "to flow split wise" in reference to the Avon and St. Croix Rivers.
