The effects of Canada’s Residential School System on Indigenous Peoples in Canada must be studied, acknowledged and reconciled.

29 days ago, on September 1, 2020, the Government of Canada “recognized the national historic significance of the Residential School System as a tragic and defining event in Canadian history.”

Two former residential schools, one in Manitoba and one in Nova Scotia, were designated as national historic sites.

99% of the writing on my blog, lifeandpoliticswithjennifer.com, and here on my IG feed has been about events happening in Canadian politics. It's fun to write about, but it is intense. It involves a ton of research, to get the facts, and is very time consuming.

The reality is there are a lot of fantastic news articles, studies and policy papers from reliable and trustworthy sources that provide all the pertinent factual details.

I will help you find them!

I want you to be informed! I want you to understand Canadian politics and how it impacts your life! With that information you can make the decisions that are best for you and your family!

Understanding Canadian politics, current events and how "systems" in our country and world work has impacted my life in really important ways. I want the same for you!

Life and politics are connected and I'm going to show you how!

I will lead you to the best information I’ve found. I will share what’s not being covered in mainstream media; topics and conversations that are important and relevant. I will write more “life” posts so I can connect with you about my experiences and share the impacts Canadian politics has on me and my family’s life.

Right now, share with me and others in the comments, one place you get your political news from. Mine is CPAC - Canadian Public Affairs Channel on cable tv or cpac.ca.
