Wow! Another amazing night at The Beehive!! Thank you so much to everyone who came and made the space so warm, thank you Prairie Wolfe and for sharing their amazing musical talents, and to all of our wonderful volunteers — we couldn’t do it without you!!

This was our last dinner of our three dinner pilot. We will now take some time to evaluate, look at what we learned, and decide what comes next. We expect to be able to host another dinner in the next few months. Stay tuned 😃🐝.

Okay, this is your final nudge — the May 9 Beehive Dinner is looking very delicious. 🐝

We’ve been testing recipes, planning tables, and getting ready for a warm evening of good food, live music, and great company.

And since it’s Mother’s Day weekend, this could be a lovely way to treat someone who has supported you — your mom, grandmother, partner, friend, neighbour, or anyone who deserves a special night out.

But we need our final numbers soon so our volunteers can shop, prep, cook, and make sure there’s enough for everyone.

Our April 18 Beehive dinner was such a joyful night — about 60 people around the tables, delicious food, lively trivia, and so many great conversations. Huge thanks to everyone who came and to the amazing volunteers who helped make the evening feel so welcoming.

Another incredible Beehive dinner in the books! 🐝

With about 60 guests around the tables, the room was buzzing. We heard rave reviews about the food (am I right, folks?) — while the pulled pork was a favourite, many people were surprised by just how delicious the BBQ jackfruit and tofu sandwiches were. And the orange poppyseed cake with raspberry glaze? Gone in a flash.

Then came trivia — huge thanks to Chad and Toby for turning the room into a full-on team competition. Laughter, debate, and just the right amount of chaos… exactly what we were hoping for.

Most importantly, we had about 18 incredible volunteers making sure everyone felt welcome, well fed, and connected — including folks from and .zainali.design.group. To all of you who show up and give 100% each time — you are truly the heart of the hive. ❤️

Our first Beehive dinner brought together 40 neighbours for an evening of shared food and conversation — and we’re excited to do it again.

Tickets are now available for our April 18 Beehive Community Dinner 🐝🍽️

Join us for a relaxed evening of shared tables, homemade food, and easy conversation with neighbours from White Rock and Surrey.

This month’s menu is BBQ Sandwich Night (with vegetarian options), and we’re planning a light, optional trivia night to add a bit of fun to the evening.

The dinner will be at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in South Surrey, but is not a religious event.

Our first dinner sold out, and we have just 60 seats available, so we recommend booking early if you’d like to join us.

Everyone is welcome — whether you come on your own or with others.

Tickets are $10, with the rest of the meal supported through donations and grants to keep things accessible. If you’re able, there’s an option to add a donation when booking to help cover more of the cost and support future dinners.
