Cement Stabilization will be starting today, June 10th, 2026

The work will begin at the intersection of Range Rd 75 & Township Rd 454A
Then will head North to township rd 455
And will proceed East to Range Rd 74 and will end 1/2 a mile North of the Range Rd.

Forest Tent Caterpillar 🐛

Keep your eyes peeled for these little guys clustering on trees and the sides of buildings. Tent caterpillars are native to Alberta and play a natural role in the ecosystem. While outbreaks can look dramatic, they are typically short-lived and rarely cause long-term damage to healthy trees.

Tent caterpillars have only one generation per year and outbreaks can last 2-5 years before populations naturally decline.

What can you do?
• Remove cocoons and egg masses by carefully scraping/brushing them off host trees
• Use pressurized water to dislodge caterpillars

Applications are now open for the Municipal Bursary Program!

This program is intended to provide financial support and incentive to rural students pursuing post-secondary education.
The Agricultural Service Board (ASB) Bursary is intended for students enrolled in an agricultural or environmental program at an accredited post-secondary institution.
The Education Bursary is open to students enrolled in a program at an accredited college, university or trade school.

The M.D. of Wainwright is pleased to once again offer an evening of socializing, food and entertainment to celebrate agriculture and the rural community within our municipality. M.D. of Wainwright ratepayers are invited to supper followed by the entertainment of Over The Moon.

Registration Information: Registration is required to attend this event. Contact us at the M.D. Admin Office at 780-842-4454 or email Kaitlin at [email protected] to register. This event is for M.D. ratepayers only (Village of Irma, Edgerton and Chauvin, and Town of Wainwright residents are not eligible to attend). If you register and plans change, please notify us in advance of the event. No shows DO cost money and take seats away from those who wish to attend. Limited seating is available and on a first come first served basis.

8:00pm - Award Presentations

June 1st - 7th, 2026 is Seniors Week! It is the 40th anniversary of Seniors Week in Alberta.

On May 19th, 2026 M.D. of Wainwright Council passed a motion to declare Seniors Week be honored in the M.D. as well.
