Congratulations to Cdr Henderson on his retirement after 45 years of distinguished service. His Depart with Dignity ceremony was held at the Wardroom in Esquimalt on 7 May 2026. Upon retirement, Cdr Henderson has the highest number of sea days in the entire RCN, with 3,029 days at sea across both submarine and surface fleets.

Thank you to you and your family for your commitment, dedication, and leadership throughout the years. Fair winds and following seas in this next chapter.

Félicitations au Capf Henderson pour son départ à la retraite après 45 ans de service distingué. Sa cérémonie de départ dans la dignité a eu lieu au carré des officiers à Esquimalt, le 7 mai 2026. Au moment de son départ à la retraite, le Capf Henderson détient le nombre de jours le plus élevé passé en mer de la toute la MRC, totalisant 3 029 jours en mer au sein des flottes sous-marines et de surface.

Members of the Naval Experience Program received hands on training on HMCS Corner Brook. The NEPs were embedded within the Submarine Support Team (SST) alongside CFMETR, gaining direct exposure to and participating in the complex evolutions required to execute submarine operations safely and effectively. As the photo in the clearly shows, life in the submarine community isn’t just challenging, it also makes for some very jolly sailors!

Les participants au Programme Expérience de la Marine (PEM) ont suivi une instruction pratique à bord du NCSM Corner Brook. Intégrés à l’Équipe de soutien de sous-marin (ESSM) aux côtés du CEEMFC, ils ont pu acquérir une expérience directe et participer aux manœuvres complexes nécessaires à la conduite sûre et efficace des opérations sous-marines. Comme le montre clairement la photo, la vie au sein de la communauté des sous-mariniers n’est pas seulement exigeante, elle crée aussi des marins très joyeux!

LCdr Britany Bourgeois and PO2 Jake Dixon recently embarked on a sail with ROKS Dosan Ahn Chang Ho. This deployment strengthens their expertise in submarine operations while enhancing interoperability with the Republic of Korea Navy.

La Capc Britany Bourgeois et le M 2 Jake Dixon ont récemment pris la mer à bord du ROKS Dosan Ahn Chang Ho. Ce déploiement leur permet de renforcer leur expertise en matière d’opérations sous-marines tout en améliorant l’interopérabilité avec la Marine de la République de Corée.
