This past Friday, Richard Riddle of Little Hangleton and Louisa Astbury of Rye married in front of two hundred guests at Mr. Riddle's family home in Little Hangleton.
The Bridegroom is the only surviving son of Geoffrey and Matilda. The Bride is the second daughter of Lord Edwin and Lady Daisy. Lord Edwin gave his daughter in marriage. The Bride wore a white dress made by her mother, and the bouquet was created from flowers from the garden on the Astbury Estate.
The bride's sister, Adelia Desborouge, was the Matron of Honor. Her sister-in-law Charlotte Riddle and her dear friend Kitty Edgeworth were bridesmaids. The Bridegroom's best friend Aubrey Matheson served as Best Man. His cousin Samuel McCollister and brother-in-law Edbert Astbury were groomsmen.
The Right Honourable William Thomson, Archbishop of York, carried out the ceremony.
The Riddles will be going on a two-month honeymoon. When they return, they will live in the Riddle Home with Mr. Riddle's parents and his younger sister, Charlotte. Richard will eventually inherit the home from his parents.
