It was a real honour today to spend the day worshipping with the congregation and celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the church building at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Parish of Plain Lake.

I was impressed to learn about how far some people came (Ontario, Calgary, Edmonton and many places in between) in order to be part of this celebration. The dedication to travel here today is a testimony to the importance of this church and the place it holds in the hearts of so many.

As a representative of the County of Two Hills I was glad for the chance to recognize and celebrate the history, tradition , faith and faithfulness of the community at Plain Lake Parish.

Congratulations to the Parrish and to the community on such a rich history.

I enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) Conference with our Two Hills Adult Learning team. It was encouraging to hear how the Adult Learning programs in our community, and across Alberta are giving adult learners skills, hope and confidence. Proud of the good work our local Adult Learning team is doing in our community.

Had a great time last night at the Plain Lake Bingo. Looking forward to celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the hall with the community on May 17. If you don’t already have your tickets yet, there are still some tickets available.

🌿 Do Not Spray Zone Reminder 🌿

Landowners who prefer not to have the ditches next to their property sprayed can sign an annual No Spray Agreement by April 30, 2026.

By signing, you agree to:
✔️ Take responsibility for controlling Prohibited Noxious & Noxious weeds along your ditch
✔️ Ensure “No Spray” signs are posted and clearly visible for the entire spraying season

If weeds are not properly managed, the County may step in and control them as needed.

Please note: Spraying does not occur directly in front of residential yards.
