Nova Scotia Fisheries & Aquaculture Loan Board Offering financial resources and lending opportunities for Nova Scotia fishing industry

11/06/2026

Meet Elsie Joy, a 49’ Grizzly designed and built right here in Nova Scotia for My Two Girls Fisheries Ltd. of Digby.

This project came together through the skilled craftsmanship of West Head Boatbuilders Ltd. (hull) and James d’Entremont Boat Builders Ltd. (finisher) and was proudly launched on April 23, 2026.

We don’t just finance boats—we help keep Nova Scotia’s fishing industry moving forward one build at a time.
📍 Home Port: Digby, NS
🚢 Hull: 49’ x 26’6” x 8’ Grizzly

Crown Financing 101: From Application to Approval

Join representatives from the Nova Scotia Fisheries & Aquaculture Loan Board, Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board & Nova Scotia Timber Loan Board for an informative session on Crown Lending and financing opportunities available within these industries.

Many clients contact CBDC looking for financing options that may be larger in scope or better suited to one of Nova Scotia's Crown Lending Agencies. This session is designed to help those involved in fisheries, aquaculture, agriculture, agri-business, and forestry better understand the financing landscape and learn when CBDC or one of Nova Scotia's Crown Lending Agencies may be the right fit for their project.

Whether you're considering purchasing your first fishing enterprise, vessel, licence, or quota, expanding an aquaculture operation, investing in farmland, equipment, livestock, a berry operation, vineyard, winery, woodlot, or planning for business succession, this session will provide valuable insight into the financing process and what lenders look for.

Learn about:
✔️ Who qualifies for financing
✔️ The financing process from application to approval
✔️ The 5 C's of Lending
✔️ Common application mistakes
