A big thank you to Visual Arts Mississauga for facilitating a Take Back the Night banner making workshop for the residents living at Embrave: Agency to End Violence!

Both the adults and children were invited to work together in creating the beautiful banner that will lead the Take Back the Night march this year!

Take Back the Night is an annual anti-violence rally and march that raises awareness and stands against gender-based violence.

Come together with us for an evening of advocacy, solidarity, and community, featuring a rally, march, community booths, and so much more. Together, we can help create a safer, more inclusive community for everyone.

PCAWA celebrated over 40 years of incredible service and impact in our community!

Together, we gathered to reflect on the organization's journey since its founding in 1984, honouring the dedication, partnerships, and lasting impact PCAWA has made across Peel Region.

This milestone also celebrates more than four decades of passionate coordinators, co-chairs, members, volunteers, staff, and community partners whose commitment has helped shape PCAWA's legacy and strengthen our communities.

Here's to celebrating the past and continuing the work that makes a difference for generations to come.

Call for Artists: 2026 Take Back the Night Poster Contest

Embrave, the Peel Committee Against Woman Abuse (PCAWA), and Visual Arts Mississauga invite artists to design an original poster inspired by the Take Back the Night movement, standing against gender-based violence and supporting survivors.

Open to three categories:
Teen Artists (11–17)
Emerging Artists (18–30)
Established Artists (31+)

One winner per category will receive $200 in gift cards ($100 from Embrave + $100 from VAM). Winning posters will be featured at the Take Back the Night event on September 17, 2026, and used in print and online promotions.

Submission Deadline: August 5, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
