For many of our youth participants, our canoe trips are their first experience immersed in the wilderness of a provincial park. With the help of our specialized, caring staff, canoe trips help youth develop a newfound appreciation for and connection to nature, and equip them in navigating the outdoors in a group setting.

This testimonial is an example of how the positive effects of a canoe trip last long after our trips; with core memories being created and youth gaining a boost in confidence, resilience, and the confirmation that they are capable of handling challenges and change that come their way.

A recent feature in The Globe and Mail captures exactly why Project Canoe does what we do. From disconnecting from screens to fostering independence to building resilience, wilderness canoe trips offer youth a unique space to grow.

As the article puts it, tripping is "a series of small accomplishments that build up kids’ resilience, from wet boots to cold nights and big storms."

We are so grateful to for hosting the 2026 in support of Project Canoe. The Complete Paddler has generously hosted this event year after year, and there truly aren’t enough words to express our appreciation for their ongoing commitment, passion, and support. This year’s event raised over $4,500, which will help provide youth facing barriers with the opportunity to participate in transformative backcountry canoe trips in Algonquin Park. We’re only able to offer these life-changing experiences with no financial barriers to youth because of the generosity of partners and donors like The Complete Paddler and the folks that attended and supported this event. Thank you for making this possible 💙🛶

Thank you, paddling community!
Our Paddling Film Festival Premiere on January 22nd was an incredible success, and it wouldn’t have been possible without our volunteers, generous donors, and everyone who came out to celebrate paddling with us.

Because of your support, we raised enough to fund over 45 youth days in Algonquin Park this summer through Project Canoe—giving at-risk youth the chance to connect with nature, build confidence, and experience paddling for the first time.

From all of us at The Complete Paddler—thank you for making this night (and this impact) possible.
