St. Clare Inn

St. Clare Inn, a transitional housing program for homeless women with diagnosed mental health issues. Currently in its 10th year, St.

Inspired by the death of a local homeless woman who struggled with mental health issues, St Clare Inn was started by a group of lay men and women and Franciscan Friars. The Inn opened it doors in 2007 to care and assist for this often overlooked and marginalized group. Our goal is to empower homeless women with mental health issues to achieve a lifetime of independent living, self worth and respect. Clare Inn is now a highly respected program in the City of Toronto among social workers, caseworkers, psychiatrists, doctors and hospital discharge planners.

New data from Ontario’s Financial Accountability Office highlights a growing homelessness crisis across the province. While investments in homelessness prevention and housing supports continue, the need is rising faster than available resources. This is why organizations like St. Clare Inn are so important, providing safe, supportive housing and helping women move from homelessness and instability toward independence and long-term success. 💙🏠

This report reviews provincial spending on homelessness programs, estimates the number of households supported, and projects the known population experiencing homelessness in Ontario.

Bidding stays open until Walk Day, Sept 26.
