An amazing time this weekend at the Perth Pride Festival! 🏳️‍🌈☀️

Our team loved connecting with community members, meeting new people and, as always, being part of such a vibrant celebration. It's so special to experience festivals like this - the energy and the sense of community is incredible.

Thank you to everyone who made this festival such a joyful and welcoming experience. We're proud to stand with our 2SLGBTQ+ community in Perth and beyond.

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to recognize First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples who have called this land home since time immemorial.

The design in this years graphic shows three symbols to represent each community - a feather, narwhal, and fiddle - flowing together in connection. The rainbow colours celebrate how diverse and rich our Indigenous cultures are across Canada.

This month we encourage you to truly learn about Indigenous cultures and traditions directly from Indigenous voices, and to reflect on our shared history and how we can all support reconciliation. As a child welfare organization, we're committed to this work through building relationships with local Indigenous communities and working to reduce the number of Indigenous children in care.

Our work is shaped by our vision: Safe Children. Confident Youth. Resilient Adults.

We advocate for and protect children's rights, support and strengthen families, and are leaders for positive change in our community. Through culturally competent services and with the support of our community, we help parents and caregivers build healthy families and provide safe environments for children and youth.

Every child and youth deserves to be at the centre of decisions that affect them. Their voice, identity, culture and heritage matter in everything we do.

We are here to help, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Children and youth thrive when connected to family and community.

At HPCAS, we know how important it is for young people to maintain ties to their culture and heritage - essential parts of their unique identity. This is why we work to keep children within their circle of love whenever possible.

We partner with parents, caregivers and community to provide equitable and culturally aligned services. When children need protection, we search for extended family and trusted kin who can provide safe environments while maintaining important identity connections.

Every child deserves a network of caring adults they can count on.

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between The Well Youth Hubs and Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society (HPCAS), focused on strengthening the future of the hubs and the services we provide.

Through a formal Memorandum of Understanding, HPCAS will offer administrative and operational support, helping to build long-term sustainability while allowing us to continue delivering the youth-focused, low-barrier approach that is at the heart of The Well.

Our day-to-day operations will remain the same across all three hub locations. Youth can continue to access the same safe, welcoming spaces and supports they trust.

Shannon McGavin will remain in her role as Director of The Well Youth Hubs, working alongside HPCAS. Our model, identity, and overall approach will stay true to what our community knows and values.

This partnership allows us to grow stronger while maintaining consistency for the youth, families, and communities we serve throughout Huron and Perth.
