UPDATE: Oaklynn has been found and she is okay! A big thank you to all the volunteers; to all who donated food, time, and resources; to BC Search and Rescue, the RCMP, CERS, BCWS, Takysie Resort & Store, and all the various organizations that assisted in this search; and to all of our neighboring First Nations who united to find one of our own. This is a great day!

ALERT: Oaklynn Schweder, 6-years old, a member of Skin Tyee Nation, has gone missing. SAR & RCMP have set up a command center at Skin Tyee Nation's office at 6914 Campbell Rd. Any volunteers wishing to help, please report to Skin Tyee Nation's Emergency Management Coordinator and liaison with SAR/RCMP, Jason (Jay) Wiebe, and SAR before going out. At the parent's request, please send any monetary donations to [email protected]. Any donations of food or supplies can be delivered to Skin Tyee Nation's band office to support the search.

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! Skin Tyee is honoured to have won first place for our float in the BLNDC parade. A special thank you to Genevieve Tom-Sprake for organizing this project, Mark and Alex McCorkell for dancing, Jason Prince for drumming, Kristen Adolph and Sienna McCorkell for decorating and makeup, Chief Ryan Tom and Councillors' Shirley Wilson and Gabriel Tom, driver Martin Tom, and the numerous other helpers and participants - we couldn't have done it without you! This is just the beginning of many great things.
