We have some exciting things happening here at The Salvation Army Simcoe Community Services- and we want to tell YOU about them!

This is event is open to anyone who wants to know more about what we do! Are you a financial supporter of The Salvation Army? Do you donate food/toys to our programs? Are you a community partner that works with us or alongside us to make a difference here in Norfolk County? Do you just want to learn more about who we are and what we do?

We want to see you at our Open House on Friday September 11th. Two time slots to accommodate your schedule! Come meet our team, tour our food bank, Manna Cafe and other program spaces, enjoy some snacks, and come hear more about what is coming in the months ahead! Drop by for a quick visit or come and stay awhile, whatever works for you!

Well today was fun! We held our Back-To-School Supplies party which saw a number of kids come and have a great time! We enjoyed ice cream sundaes, crafts and video games! These kids are ready to conquer the school year- armed with great supplies and a great attitude! 💪

Huge thanks to our partners like United Steel Workers Local 8782, Libro Credit Union and Planet Youth Haldimand-Norfolk! We are also super appreciative of every group and individual who donated to this initiative!

We are also so grateful for our amazing volunteers who did everything from stock the tables, to make sundaes, to wash dishes, to help with crafts, and so much more! ❤️

We wish all the students getting ready to back to school a great school year ahead! ✏️🚌

Due to high demand we need to close registration for this program a day early. We have filled all of the available spots!

We are so excited that just over 150 kids in Norfolk County will receive back to school supplies through this program! Our building will be CRAZY on Monday as we celebrate, have ice cream, play games, and more! We are looking forward to sending the summer out and bringing the school year in with this great event!

To our cherished community:

We appreciate all of the support we receive in terms of donations. You have no idea how much the desire to support our work means to us and our community.

We do have a small ask of you when it comes to donations.

**Please make your donations during our operating hours.**

In order to comply with Health and Safety standards, Salvation Army Policy and other relevant rules and regulations, we need to ensure that donations are handled appropriately. When stuff is left outside our door, we cannot do this. Therefore donations left this way end up becoming waste.

For donations of secondhand items (which we cannot take):
- Donate them to one of the great local, independent Thrift Stores in Norfolk County!
- Drop them off at the purple donation bins placed around town.
- The Salvation Army operates Thrift Stores in Tillsonburg, Caledonia and Brantford if you want your donations to go to our organization specifically.
- Salvation Army Thrift Stores now accept donations by mail at no charge to you! Go to www.thriftstore.ca/how-to-mail-clothing-donations-in-ontario/

Thanks Jeremy from Hustle & Heart 98.9 myFM for having us out today to discuss our “Back-to-School Supplies Party”! We are very excited for this new approach to our Back To School program!

To register: visit us during our Manna Cafe Hours (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 1:30-4pm) and fill out a registration form!

To donate: Drop off donations during our Office hours Monday-Thursday! Top needed: Backpacks and Supplies for Teenagers, indoor Shoes for kids Grades K-5 and school safe snacks!
