Selkirk RCMP arrest male for Sexual Interference

On May 20, 2026, at 9:44 am, Selkirk RCMP received information about a sexual assault that occurred a few days prior. It was reported that a 41-year-old male had touched a female youth inappropriately.

The identity of the suspect was known but his whereabouts were not. Selkirk RCMP then learned that the suspect was also wanted on two separate arrest warrants for failing to attend court and breaching his release order.

On June 4, Selkirk RCMP attended multiple addresses to locate the suspect, Jarod Robson. RCMP attended to a residence in Grand Marais where, at approximately 11:15 am, officers announced themselves at the door. They heard movement from inside the home but nobody came to the door. The owner then arrived on scene and provided officers access to the residence where Robson was located in the living room in possession of a knife.

Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and safely take him into custody.

Jarod Robson was remanded into custody on the strength of the two arrest warrants that were executed and new charges related to this incident for:
• Sexual interference
• Sexual assault
• Fail to comply with release order x 5

Truck stolen on June 1 from an address in the RM of St Andrews, found during a break and enter in progress in the RM of Rockwood.

Stonewall RCMP arrest suspect involved in a break and enter in progress

On June 4, 2026, at 2:48 am, Stonewall RCMP received a report of a multiple hit alarm at a business located in the 9500 block on Highway 7, in the RM of Rockwood.

Upon arrival at 3:15 am, officers observed a pickup truck idling and hooked up to a trailer near the back entrance to a shop. Officers approached the back door and noticed that it had been forced open. The lights were off but officers could hear someone rummaging inside. They then heard an engine starting.

Officers immediately announced themselves and instructed whoever was inside to come out. The suspect then walked out with his hands in the air, wearing a facemask up to his cheek bones, a hat with a head lamp and dark clothing. He was arrested without incident. Officers then cleared the building and determined he was alone, he had started a front-end loader inside the shop and was preparing to load it up on the trailer.

The truck idling outside was determined to have been stolen from and address located in the RM of St Andrews on June 1, 2026. Officers also recovered the hooked-up trailer and multiple power-tools inside the stolen truck that belong to the business.

Christopher Bouskill, a 39-year-old from the RM of Rockwood, has been remanded into custody for the following offences:

• Break and enter;
• Disguise with intent;
• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 – motor vehicle;
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 x 2 and;
• Fail to comply with release order x 3.

Stonewall RCMP continue to investigate.

Selkirk RCMP lay charges on motorcyclist for street racing

On May 24, 2026, at 11:50 am, a Red River North RCMP officer was travelling north on Highway 59, near Bird’s Hill Road in the RM of East St Paul, when he observed a motorcycle travelling north on Highway 59 without a displayed licence plate.

The officer turned around and attempted a traffic stop, but it sped up, weaving between traffic as it continued travelling northbound. The motorcycle was observed travelling 176 km/h in a posted 100 km/h speed zone.

As they approached the exit for Bird’s Hill Provincial Park, the motorcycle merged but then drove into the ditch to jump onto the southbound lane to merge back onto Highway 59, heading south. He was, once again, observed weaving in and out of traffic.

The officer requested assistance from officers from the Selkirk and Red River North Detachments who then blocked the intersection of Highway 59 and Bird’s Hill Road. The motorcycle stopped as it had nowhere to go. The driver was arrested without incident.

The driver, a 19-year-old male from Winnipeg, had his driver’s licence suspended and motorcycle impounded for 7 days for street racing. He was also served with a Serious Offence Notice and a total of five tickets totalling $2800 in fines for:

• Speeding ($1045)
• Drive carelessly ($672)
• Drive unregistered vehicle ($298)
• Drive without motor vehicle liability insurance ($672)
• Fail to display a valid registration place and sticker ($113)

Selkirk RCMP respond to fatal motorcycle collision on Highway 44

On May 31, 2026, at 8:30 pm, Selkirk RCMP responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle on Highway 44, at the intersection of Provincial Road 212 in the RM of St Clements.

Officers responded immediately and learned that a motorcycle was travelling east on Highway 44 when it collided with another vehicle who was crossing the highway going north on PR 212.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 66-year-old male from the RM of Brokenhead, was transported to hospital by STARS and suffered from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the motorcycle, a 70-year-old female also from the RM of Brokenhead, was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 19-year-old female from Portage la Prairie, was transported to hospital as a precaution and did not appear injured.

Selkirk RCMP, along with Manitoba RCMP traffic services, continue to investigate.

On May 10, 2026, at approximately 7:20 pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a robbery from a business on Manitoba Avenue.

Officers arrived and the suspects were no longer on scene.

A Loss Prevention Officer advised police he attempted to prevent an unknown male, and two females from leaving the store, but the male produced a sharp object and threatened him with it.
The three suspects left with approximately $600 in goods from the store.
No one was physically injured in the incident.

Police are asking the public for assistance in helping to identify the three suspects – the male in the grey hoodie, along with the two females dressed all in black.

On Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:07 pm, Selkirk RCMP were travelling north on Highway 9, near Lower Fort Garry when they stopped a vehicle travelling south going 167km/h in an 80km/h speed zone.

The driver’s excuse: the speedometer was in MPH and they didn’t realise they were going that fast.

The officer completed a Mandatory Alcohol Screening on the driver which resulted in a “Warn” reading. The driver, a 52-year-old male from Winnipeg, received a 72-hour immediate roadside suspension.

He was fined $1189 for speeding, $400 for having a blood concentration between 50mg% and 79mg% and $143 for failing to produce their driver’s licence to a peace officer on demand.

The vehicle was impounded for 72hours. The driver also received a Serious Offence Notice sending their Drivers licence for review.

Selkirk RCMP make arrest after break and enter in a Quonset

On May 19, 2026, at 9:30 am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a suspicious person report on Norwood Road in the Petersfield area of the RM of St Andrews.

It was reported that a male and a female were wandering around peoples’ yards.

Officers attended immediately and located the female who was found to have an outstanding unendorsed warrant of arrest for charges of Fail to comply with a Probation Order. The male was not located.

At 11:25 am, Selkirk RCMP responded to a suspicious person report near Tallie Avenue, once again in the Petersfield area of the RM of St Andrews. The description of this person matched that of the suspicious male reported earlier.

Selkirk RCMP, along with Police Service Dog Stewie, were able to track down the suspect who was located inside a Quonset on a property on Netley Street.

Jordan Kuz, a 38-year-old male from Gimli, was arrested for Break and Enter as well as Fail to comply with conditions of a release order. He was remanded in custody.

As for the female, Kayla Smith, a 36-year-old female from the RM of Bifrost, she was released on conditions with a pending court date.

Selkirk RCMP asking the public to help identify suspect who assaulted a security guard

On March 25, 2025, at 4:55 am, Selkirk RCMP received a report of an assault that occurred on Main Street in Selkirk.

It was determined that a male was observed in the lobby of a business by an alarm company who then alerted a security guard. The guard approached the male and asked him to leave.

The male followed the security guard to his work vehicle and asked for a ride. The guard refused but offered to help by calling a taxi. The male became agitated and assaulted the guard by punching and kicking him.

The guard managed to escape and called 911. The suspect fled on foot.

Selkirk RCMP have canvassed businesses in the area, looking for video footage of the suspect, and they were able to obtain the following pictures.

Selkirk RCMP execute a search warrant for fi****ms

On May 8, 2026, RCMP officers from the Selkirk General Investigative Section (GIS), along with the Selkirk Detachment, the Manitoba East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Team and the Emergency Response Team, attended to a Vaughan Avenue residence and executed a search warrant for fi****ms.

Police arrested four individuals inside the residence without incident. They were later released without charge.

Officers located numerous fi****ms and ammunition during the search. All the fi****ms were unsafely stored and readily accessible. The fi****ms seized included:
• One prohibited .22 calibre revolver
• One semi-automatic tactical style rifle with three prohibited magazines
• One semi-automatic SKS rifle
• One lever action rifle
• Various calibres of ammunition

Selkirk GIS continue to investigate.
