MacDonald Fire Fighters Association

MacDonald Fire Fighters Association is comprised of the members of the MacDonald Fire Department. The Association is a separate entity of the Fire Department and the RM of MacDonald that has a governing body including a President, Vise President, Treasurer and a Secretary . We as a group fund raise and donate 50% to charity organizations like Fire Fighters Burn Fund, Children's Hospital, and MS to name a few. The remaining 50% is used to purchase such things as clothing ( jackets, shirts, hoodies, etc) for the members. We also hold breakfasts for members, and alumni to promote camaraderie. We invited other first responder groups such police, ambulance and STARS to help promote stronger bonds and working relationships with these organizations to better serve residents and guests traveling through our community .

One of the exciting projects the Association has done recently and have seen a very positive response from our community is our teddy bear give away. The Association has purchased teddy bears to give to children on scene that have been involved an incident. We have found a simple teddy bear to hug helps them focus on something positive and calms them in a stressful situation .

Another initiative that we have restarted is hosting a Spouse Dinner. This is to show appreciation to our loved ones who we leave at home when the pager tones go off. It is a great opportunity for the Fire Fighters to come together as a group and prepare a meal for our spouses promoting camaraderie and most importantly say thank you.
