Some babies in hospital rely on donated breast milk to grow and stay healthy. For babies born early or too sick to breastfeed, donor milk can provide important nutrition when they need it most.

Donor milk is safely collected and shared with hospitals across B.C.

If you have extra breast milk, you can help.

Opened in 1980, Port Hardy Hospital (PHH) is the largest hospital in northern Vancouver Island. This summer, construction begins to expand and modernize the emergency department, alongside a new sacred space and Indigenous Health office, added parking and enhanced staff workspaces.

Located in Port Hardy on the traditional, unceded territory of the Kwakiutl First Nation, PHH is surrounded by natural beauty - from Cape Scott Provincial Park to world-class fishing, abundant wildlife and a rich cultural history connected to the Kwakwaka’wakw Peoples. The community is quiet, rugged and deeply peaceful.

Looking for a tight-knit team and a slower pace? Port Hardy offers a chance to reconnect with purpose, community and the natural world at the edge of Vancouver Island.
